Vortex

[edit]

The South African Civil War were a series of political and military conflicts that occurred in South Africa and its neighboring countries in the early 1990s. The catalyst for the crisis was the assassination of Frederick Haymans, the reformist president of South Africa, and his cabinet by a radical faction of the African National Congress (ANC), a banned anti-apartheid organization. The attack was orchestrated by Karl Vorster, the minister of law and order and a secret member of the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging (AWB), a white supremacist group. Vorster seized power and declared a state of emergency, unleashing a brutal crackdown on the black population and the ANC.

The ANC responded by launching a guerrilla war against the Vorster regime, with support from Cuba, Angola, and Zimbabwe. The United States, concerned about the stability of the region and the threat of nuclear weapons in South African hands, intervened on behalf of the ANC, sending troops and air support to assist their allies. The Soviet Union, which had been supporting Cuba and Angola in their previous conflicts with South Africa, also joined the fray, sending naval forces and advisers to bolster their communist allies.

The war escalated into a regional conflagration, with battles raging across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Zambia. The conflict also involved naval clashes in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, as well as air strikes on strategic targets in both sides' territories. The war reached its climax when Vorster ordered a nuclear strike on Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe, killing millions of civilians and triggering a nuclear exchange between South Africa and its enemies. The war ended with the overthrow of Vorster by a coup led by moderate Afrikaners, who negotiated a ceasefire and a transition to democracy with the ANC and the international community.

Rage Virus

[edit]

The Rage Virus was a pandemic that devastated Great Britain in 2002. It was caused by a mutated strain of the Ebola virus that was engineered by scientists to suppress anger and aggression in humans. However, the virus had the opposite effect, triggering uncontrollable rage and violence in its hosts. The virus was transmitted through blood and saliva, and could infect any primate within seconds.

The outbreak began when a group of animal rights activists broke into a research facility in Cambridge and released several chimpanzees that were infected with the virus. The activists and the scientists were quickly attacked and infected by the chimps, and the virus spread rapidly throughout the country. Within 28 days, most of the population was either infected or dead, and the few survivors had to fend off attacks from the infected hordes.

The British government tried to contain the outbreak by imposing martial law and setting up military blockades, but they were overwhelmed by the sheer number of infected. The rest of the world quarantined Great Britain and cut off all communication and travel. The fate of the country remained unknown for several months, until a small group of survivors managed to contact a NATO base in France and request evacuation.

However, their rescue was complicated by the discovery that one of them was a carrier of the virus, who had inherited it from his father. The carrier unknowingly infected his mother, who then escaped from a secure facility and triggered a second outbreak in London. The military attempted to eliminate the threat by firebombing the city, but some of the infected escaped and reached mainland Europe via the Channel Tunnel. The virus then spread to France, where it caused another wave of chaos and violence.

The Republic of Altis and Stratis (Greek: Δημοκρατία Αλτης και Στράτης, Dimokratía Altis kai Strátis, lit. Democracy [of] Altis and Stratis), sometimes called Altis-Stratis, commonly referred to as Altis and Stratis, often known informally as Altis, is a Mediterranean island nation that consists of two main islands: Altis and Stratis. Altis is the larger and more populous island, with a land area of 270 km2 and a variety of terrain features, such as mountains, forests, plains, cities and villages. Stratis is a smaller and more rugged island, with a land area of 20 km2 and a strategic airbase. The Republic has a long and turbulent history, dating back to ancient times when it was colonized by various civilizations, such as the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Byzantines, the Arabs, the Venetians and the Ottomans. The Republic gained its independence from colonial powers in the 19th century, but faced internal conflicts and external threats in the 20th and 21st centuries. The Republic is currently recovering from a civilwar that erupted in 2026, when a separatist movement called the Altian National Army (ANA) attempted to overthrow the democratic government. The civil war was ended by a NATO-led peacekeeping operation that intervened to support the government forces against the ANA and its allies, such as the Iranian-backed CSAT coalition. The Republic is now trying to rebuild its economy and society, while maintaining its sovereignty and security in a volatile region.

Altis is a Mediterranean island nation located in the Aegean Sea. It is the second largest island in the region, after Cyprus. The island has a population of approximately 1.5 million people and is a popular tourist destination.

The country gained its independence from colonial powers in the 19th century, and experienced a civilwar in the 20th century that divided it into two factions: the pro-Western government and the communist rebels. The civilwar ended with a peace agreement in 1982, but tensions remained high between the two sides. In 2035, a new uprising broke out on Altis, led by the Freedom and Independence Army (FIA), a guerrilla group that opposed the government's corruption and authoritarianism. The uprising coincided with a NATO withdrawal from the region, and a CSAT intervention that supported the government. The conflict escalated into a full-scale war that involved NATO, CSAT and several independent factions. The war ended with a ceasefire in 2036, after aseries of events known as the Altis Incident, which revealed a conspiracy behind the war and exposed CSAT's secret agenda.

Sahrani

[edit]

Sahrani (Spanish: Sahrani) is an island nation located in the Atlantic Ocean, south of Portugal and west of Morocco. It is divided into two regions: the Kingdom of South Sahrani, a constitutional monarchy with close ties to the United States and NATO, and the Democratic Republic of North Sahrani, a socialist republic with close ties to Russia and China. The two regions have a long history of conflict and rivalry, dating back to the mid-20th century when the North declared its independence from the Kingdom after a communist revolution. The North's military, known as the Sahrani Liberation Army (SLA), has repeatedly attempted to invade and annex the South, but has been repelled by the South's military, known as the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS), with the help of US and NATO forces. The most recent outbreak of war occurred in 2006, when the SLA launched a surprise attack on the South after most US forces withdrew from their bases on the island. The war ended with a decisive victory for the RACS and its allies, who managed to capture the North's capital of Bagango and overthrow its president. Since then, Sahrani has been undergoing a process of reunification and reconciliation, but tensions and instability remain high. Sahrani is also home to several smaller islands, such as Porto and Rahmadi, which have been used as strategic locations by both sides during the wars.

Takistan

[edit]

Takistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia. It is bordered by the Green Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Ardistan to the west, and Karzeghistan to the south. It has a population of about 10 million people as of 2023. The capital and largest city is Zargabad. The official language is Takistani, a Persian dialect. The official religion is Islam, with a Sunni majority and a Shia minority.

Takistan has a history of political instability and conflict. It was part of the Persian Empire until the 18th century, when it became a protectorate of the Russian Empire. It gained independence in 1918, after the Russian Revolution, but was invaded by the Soviet Union in 1921. It became a socialist republic within the Soviet Union, until it declared its sovereignty in 1991, following the collapse of the Soviet Union. It then faced a civil war between the pro-communist government and the pro-democracy opposition, which lasted until 1997, when a peace agreement was signed.

Takistan has a developing economy, with major sectors such as agriculture, mining, oil, gas, and textiles. The country is rich in natural resources, such as gold, uranium, copper, and opium. However, it also faces many challenges, such as poverty, corruption, unemployment, environmental degradation, and drug trafficking. The country is dependent on foreign aid and remittances from migrant workers.

Takistan has a semi-presidential system of government. The current president is Emomali Rahmon (PDPT), who was elected in 2013. The current prime minister is Kokhir Rasulzoda (PDPT), who was appointed by the president in 2013. The parliament consists of two chambers: the Assembly of Representatives (lower house) and the National Assembly (upper house). The judiciary is independent and consists of the Supreme Court and lower courts.

Chernarus

[edit]

Chernarus (Chernarussian: Чернарусь, Cernarus) is a sovereign state in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia, Takistan and the Green Sea. It has a population of about 3. 8 million people and its capital is Novigrad. Chernarus has a rich and turbulent history, dating back to the 5th century when it was inhabited by the nomadic Skyths. It became a unified kingdom in the 13th century under Taras Kozub, and later joined the Russian Empire in 1631.

In the late 19th century, Chernarussian nationalism developed, and following the Russian Revolution in 1917, the short-lived Chernarussian People's Republic was formed, operating as an independent state until 1922 when it was invaded and annexed by the Soviet Union as the Chernarussian Soviet Socialist Republic. In the early 1930s, millions of Chernarussians died in a man-made famine orchestrated by the Soviet regime. The German occupation during World War II in Chernarus was devastating, and seven million Chernarussian civilians were killed, including the majority of Chernarussian Jews.

Chernarus regained its independence in 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union and declared itself neutral; a new constitution was adopted in 1996. A series of mass demonstrations led to the establishment of a new democratic government in 2014 after a revolution, but a war soon erupted when a separatist movement in South Zagoria tried to secede and join Russia. Russia then annexed South Zagoria and launched a full-scale invasion of Chernarus in February 2022. Since the outbreak of war with Russia, Chernarus has sought closer ties with the United States, European Union, and NATO.

Chernarus has a diverse geography, ranging from mountainous regions in the north to coastal plains in the south. It has several islands in the Green Sea, such as Utes, Moschnyi and Lyutyi. The climate is temperate, with cold winters and warm summers. The main rivers are the Burnaya and the Svetlaya, which flow through the heart of the country and provide fertile land for agriculture. Chernarus has a mixed economy, based on industry, agriculture and tourism. The main exports are coal, steel, machinery and food products. Chernarus has a multi-ethnic society, with Chernarussians being the largest ethnic group, followed by Russians, Takistanis, Jews, and others. The official languages are Chernarussian and Russian, but other languages are also spoken by minority groups. The predominant religion is Eastern Orthodoxy, but there are also followers of Islam, Catholicism, Judaism, and other faiths. Chernarus has a rich culture, influenced by its Slavic heritage and its interactions with neighboring countries. It is known for its folk music, literature, cuisine and architecture.

Chernarus is a unitary state with a semi-presidential system. Although a developing country, it is the poorest country in Europe by nominal GDP per capita, and corruption remains a significant issue. It is a founding member of the United Nations, as well as a member of the Council of Europe, the World Trade Organization, and the OSCE. It is in the process of joining the European Union and has submitted an application for NATO membership.

Military

[edit]
Chernarussian soldiers being trained by U.S. advisors in 2016.

The Chernarussian Defence Forces (CDF) are the military forces of the republic of Chernarus. The CDF consists of land, sea, and air branches that are responsible for defending the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The CDF has faced several challenges since its formation, including a civil war against a pro-Russian separatist group called the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ), and an outbreak of a deadly infection that turned most of the population into zombies. The CDF has received limited military aid and support from NATO and the United Nations to combat these threats.

The CDF’s equipment and uniforms are mostly inherited from the Soviet era, but some modern Western weapons and vehicles have been acquired as well. The CDF’s flag and emblem feature a yellow star and a green cross, symbolizing the country’s history and identity. The CDF’s motto is "In the name of freedom, equality and brotherhood of nations of the Fatherland, we swear to fight for the freedom and independence of the Republic of Chernarus."

Carcer City

[edit]

Carcer City is a city in the Midwest of the United States. It is known for its high crime rate, urban decay, and corrupt police force. The city has a population of about 1.2 million people, and is divided into several districts, each with its own gangs and problems. Some of the most notorious areas of Carcer City include Darkwoods Penitentiary, a prison that was abandoned after a riot; Carcer Chem Factory, a chemical plant that produces toxic waste; and Starkweather Estate, a mansion owned by a mysterious and wealthy man who organizes illegal snuff films.

The history of Carcer City is largely unknown, but it is speculated that it was once a prosperous industrial town that fell into decline after the closure of many factories and businesses. The city became a haven for criminals, drug addicts, and the homeless, who formed gangs and fought for territory and resources. The police force of Carcer City is corrupt and ineffective, often collaborating with the gangs or turning a blind eye to their activities. The city also suffers from frequent power outages, fires, riots, and murders.

The most infamous event in Carcer City’s history was the Manhunt, a series of snuff films orchestrated by Lionel Starkweather, a former film director who became obsessed with violence and death. Starkweather hired James Earl Cash, a death row inmate who was supposedly executed, to be his star performer. Cash was forced to kill various gang members and innocent civilians in brutal ways, while being filmed by Starkweather’s cameramen. The Manhunt lasted for several hours, until Cash managed to escape and confront Starkweather at his mansion. Cash killed Starkweather and his bodyguards, and exposed his snuff films to the public. Cash’s fate after the Manhunt is unknown.

Carcer City is considered to be one of the most dangerous and depressing places in America. Many people avoid visiting or living in the city, and those who do often suffer from poverty, disease, or violence. The city has been nicknamed “the City of the Damned” by its residents and outsiders alike.

Economy

Sim Nation

[edit]

Sim Nation is a country in North America. It is bordered by Canada to the north, the United States to the south and east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It has a population of about 40 million people as of 2020. The capital and largest city is SimCity. The official language is Simlish, a creole language derived from English and other languages. The official currency is the Simoleon (§).

Sim Nation has a history of colonization and immigration. It was first inhabited by indigenous peoples, such as the Algonquian and the Iroquois. It was then explored and claimed by European powers, such as France, Spain, and Britain. It became part of the British Empire in 1763, after the Seven Years’ War. It gained independence in 1867, after the Sim Nation Act, which created a federal system of government. It then welcomed immigrants from around the world, especially from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

Sim Nation has a mixed economy, with major sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, services, technology, and entertainment. The country is rich in natural resources, such as oil, gas, minerals, timber, and fish. However, it also faces many challenges, such as pollution, climate change, inequality, and crime. The country is a member of international organizations such as the United Nations, NATO, the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Organization of Sim-American States.

Sim Nation has a parliamentary system of government. The current head of state is Queen Elizabeth II (Sim Nation Monarchy), who is represented by the Governor General. The current head of government is Prime Minister Malcolm Landgraab (Conservative Party), who was elected in 2019. The parliament consists of two chambers: the House of Commons (lower house) and the Senate (upper house). The judiciary is independent and consists of the Supreme Court and lower courts.

Sim Nation has a diverse culture, influenced by its indigenous heritage and its multicultural society. The country celebrates many festivals and holidays throughout the year, such as New Year’s Day (January 1), Valentine’s Day (February 14), St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), Easter (variable date), Halloween (October 31), Thanksgiving (second Monday of October), and Christmas (December 25). The country also has a rich artistic tradition, with genres such as music, literature, film, television, and video games. The country also has a cuisine that consists of dishes such as pancakes, poutine, pizza, hot dogs, and burgers.
