Oblique Mercator[edit]
An oblique Mercator projection places the axis/equator at a point of one's choosing to make use of the projection's distortive merits.[4][5] [6] [7] [8] It has been used in Switzerland, Hungary, Madagascar, Malaysia, Borneo, and the Aleutian Islands of Alaska,[9] as well as in the Landsat space program.[10][11]
