From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Regional Gaming Association League, or RGA League, was originally launched in the fourth quarter of 2009. The league website was created to supply online game players a place to create teams and play matches. The website gained popularity quickly, but due to a lack of administration, the league became backlogged with disputed matches and other problems. The league was taken offline in the second quarter of 2010 so that it could undergo a complete redesign.

On 7/17/2011, over one year after the site was taken offline, the league launched their new website. The site was considered a complete upgrade from the initial system, and boasts a fully automated back-end system. With the launch of the new site, the league introduced new games into the mix including League of Legend, Team Fortress 2, and soon to be Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

The league website also provides special functionality such all tag box posts, news feeds, and friends lists. This allow members to stay in touch and up to date with their friends and teams.

The league decided that with the launch of the new site, they would purge data from the original site and start over from scratch. This allowed everyone to start off on the same level.

The RGA League currently has two different divisions: RGA-L and RGA-O. RGA-L stands for RGA Ladder and RGA-O stands for RGA Open. RGA-L allows teams to challenge other teams and climb their way to the top of the ladder. RGA-O is a structured division that automatically schedules matches and places teams within a double elimination bracket. More divisions such as RGA-M and RGA-I (RGA Main and RGA Invite) will be created in later seasons.

The RGA League also released their own anti-cheat system name AtomBlocker[1]. There is not a lot known about the anti-cheats inner workings, but we are told that it will prove to be an integral part in detecting cheaters.
