The Yūfutsu River originates on the slopes of Mount Morappu near Lake Shikotsu in the very northern reaches of Tomakomai.[1] The Abira River merges with it about 1 kilometre (0.6 mi) upstream from where the Yūfutsu empties into the Pacific Ocean, just to the east of Yūfutsu Marina and 1.2 kilometres (0.7 mi) southeast of Yūfutsu Station in Tomakomai.
