He is best known for becoming the first person in U.S. history to teach Airman Leadership School at his rank of Senior Airman in February 1992. Throughout his career, Galloway worked under three U.S. Presidents - Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, serving from May 1988 to May 1996.

Born on the Robins Air Force Base, Galloway's father, served under Major General Francis C. Gideon. Galloway's mother, worked as a civilian medical secretary in Houston County, Georgia, before joining Saint Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, where she stayed for over 25 years.

In his military career, Galloway took part in Operation Desert Shield, acting as the NCOIC for the Radiology department and a unit historian for the hospital. He recalled his most memorable moment as seeing the former Czechoslovakia, since his grandfather had spent time there during World War II.
