A Disastrous Amount Of Trust[edit]
A Disastrous Amount Of Trust is the third studio album by Dutch singer New London. It was released on May 3, 2024 through Top Notch Records and Number 17 Entertainment. It is a loose concept album about the beginning and ending of a relationship. As executive producer, Jasper Klomp worked with previous collaborators Stacey Mac, Julia Jenkins and with Aston Davies, with whom he had never worked before. Upon release the album received critical acclaim, especially for its lyrical integrity.
Background[edit]
In early 2023, rumors surfaced that London and his then girlfriend had broken up. London confirmed this news in late March, at a show in Minneapolis. He also announced that he had started writing for a new album, and that he was aiming for a release date in early 2024. A month later, he revealed in an interview with British Vogue, that his new record would be about his breakup and his search for his identity after the breakup.
Recording[edit]
Recording began in June 2023, and London collaborated with Ashton Davies for most of the album. Both also served as executive producers, together with London's manager. He also worked with his long-time co-writer Kelsey White again, and reunited with Stacey Mac, who has also produced some of his songs in the past.
