My name is Tiipu and I am a Muslim Bengali and I am just an average guy trying to shed light on the history of his people. I know my name is Tiipu named after Tipu Sultan from southern India (Sultanate of Mysore) but I can assure you I am Bengali. I usually edit historical pages regarding the History of Bengal focusing mainly on the Islamic History of Bengal but also just History in general. Bengali history is often overlooked and overshadowed by quote on quote Indian History even though it encompasses many different separate and unique identities, regions and cultures. It is usually misrepresented and most people aren't aware of much beyond the modern state of Bangladesh and how they fought Pakistan in the Bangladesh Liberation War. The bulk of Bengali history is confined within books and the majority of those books are inaccessible to the average person because they are written in Bengali.
I wish to use history and specifically the History of Bengal to show how Bengal once was a singular united political, military and earthly entity, powerful and extremely rich and how it's become a shadow of it's former glory. I'm just one person and I can't do much but with Wikipedia I can communicate with the people through the means of History and convey the historical prestige and renown of Bengal and it's predecessor states such as the Bengal Sultanate and the Nawabs of Bengal or it's military prowess as seen in the likes of the Pala Empire. Bengal may be deprived and devastated today, but throughout the whole history of the region and the Bengali people they have never been in such an awful state. Yes, I might just be rambling on about some sultanates you have never heard of but it is through this that I will achieve my goals and illustrate the importance of them. Yes, the reason why Bengal is in ruins today, and most of South Asia for that matter is mostly because of British Colonialisation but just casting all the blame towards them is not going make Bengal great again.
My mission here on Wikipedia is to provide a deeper insight into History, a history you can only find in Books. Pages to do with the history of Bengal on Wikipedia are often very barebone and lack content. This amongst other things is something I am trying to actively change. If you appreciate my work please leave thanks, if you have any questions you can leave them at my talk page but anyhow, have a good rest of your day!
