SkyOne Federal Credit Union is a credit union providing financial services for air transportation industry employees. It started when eight charter members established the CAA Region 6 Federal Credit Union in July 1949 to serve Civil Aeronautics Administration employees and their families located in Western states of the US.
By December 31, 1949, the credit union boasted 200 members and assets of $19,887.53. Over the years, the credit union has experienced name changes with the addition of new groups and increased territory. When the CAA changed its name to the FAA, so did the credit union. FAA Western Federal Credit Union served FAA employees in 13 Western states. In April 2000, the Credit Union changed its name to FAA First Federal Credit Union which reflected an expansion to serve FAA employees in Alaska and eight Great Lakes states. Later, FAA First changed its charter to serve all employees nationwide who work in the air transportation industry. This includes employees of FAA, TSA, airlines, air cargo companies, and more. In January 2010, FAA First Federal Credit Union officially changed its name to SkyOne Federal Credit Union.[1]
SkyOne Federal Credit Union currently serves over 24,000 members and has more than $300 million in assets.[2]

SkyOne Federal Credit Union’s membership includes employees of companies, government agencies and organizations serving the air transportation industry, nationwide.
- Government employees who work directly in the administration, regulation, or security of airlines, airports, or air transportation, such as the FAA, TSA, NTSB, and airport authority offices
- Employees of airlines
- Employees who work at the airport directly in the air transportation industry. For example, employees of air cargo carriers, air courier services, and airport and airplane support services, such aircraft cleaners, baggage handlers, runway maintenance services, and airplane mechanics
- Retirees.
- Family members and significant others or roommates living under the same roof.
