Creative Information Systems is a software company dedicated to the production of scale ticketing software. Founded in 1984. Their first product was a job cost accounting software package. In 1986 CIS created an integrated scale management software solution that allowed a weighmaster to produce a scale ticket with data communicating from Accounts Receivable to Accounts Payable and general ledger, as well as affecting inventory, job cost, and banking.

In 1990 the company's primary focus shifted from accounting software to scale management software. This new focus supported integration into leading accounting software packages. The new product, SMS Turbo, received its NTEP (National Type Evaluation Program) approval in 1990.

CIS operations through the use of its scale ticketing software, SMS Turbo, throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Africa, Egypt, and other countries.

CIS is a licensed development partner for Intuit, Sage, and Microsoft. SMS Turbo offers integration to QuickBooks, Peachtree, Microsoft small business accounting, MAS 90, Timberline, Foundation Software, ComputerEase, Maxwell Systems, Cougar Mountain Software, and others.
