David Feign, born Herald David Feigenbaum, April 28, 1923 - October 19, 2011.

1977 Received ALT Award (Approach and Landing Test) recognition and medallion from the crews of the Approach and Landing Test Program in appreciation of his contribution to the successful ALT flights of the space shuttle orbiter "Enterprise," signed by Astronauts Gordon Fullerton, Fred Haise, Joe Engle and Richard Truly.

July 15-24, 1975 Received recognition and medallion in appreciation of contribution to the success of the first international manned space mission. Signed by American astronauts "Deke" Slayton, Tom Stafford, Vance Brand, Russian cosmonauts Aleksey Leonov, Valeriy Kubasov.


Dr. David Feign, computer pioneer, pilot, photographer and beloved father and grandfather, died on October 19 at his home in Palm Desert. His innovations ranged from the first computerized aircraft engine, to stability solutions for the Space Shuttle, to creating the system whereby login passwords are replaced by asterisks.
