Sandra Olivetti Martin

Sandra Olivetti Martin is an American journalist and editor-publisher of Bay Weekly, in Annapolis, MD, on the Western Shore of Chesapeake Bay. She also writes a highly literate weekly column about the culture, the character and the carryings-on in her storied slice of Chesapeake Country.

A writing teacher by trade, Martin entered weekly journalism in Illinois. In Maryland, she and her family founded Bay Weekly, formerly New Bay Times, in 1993. Over a quarter century.  Bay Weekly has established itself as the largest weekly newspaper in the region, distributing in a 65-mile  coastal stretch from Severna Park to Solomons Island.

Beyond writing and editing a paper devoted to smart, sustainable living, Martin is known for having trained writers young and old, many now working as writers throughout the country, with exactness rooted in her literary background.
