Guidelines[edit]
- As some are aware, I am one who tries to offer informal mediation, either via the Mediation Cabal, or through less "formal" means, such as by offering a third opinion, or even by mediating on the article talk page. I will help all those who ask of me, as long as I'm not overloaded at the present time.
The easiest way to ask for mediation is to leave me a message on my talk page. However, please note these things:
- I cannot take sides in disputes. The role of a mediator is to act as a third party, one who is neutral, to help "mediate" a discussion between two or more parties. So, please note, I cannot take sides in disputes.
- I cannot make binding decisions. I have said this many times in the disputes I've mediated, we cannot make binding decisions. If that is what is required, I would suggest filing a request with the Arbitration Committee.
- Mediators discuss disputes in article content, not user conduct. The process for dispute resolution would be a Request for Comment/User Conduct, filing a report at the Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents.
