Feedback from Emily[edit]

Great job on these sections! I was going to suggest that you redirect a search for "triploid bridge" to this page but I see that it's already been done, which is cool.

Some suggestions: It might be worthwhile giving some examples of natural autopolyploids (e.g., Tolmiea) since there are relatively few that have been documented. There have also been several more recent papers on autopolyploid that delve into its frequency and evolutionary significance, and I don't think you cited those; I would like to see them added.

I think it's also worth noting in one or both sections the fact that although we treat polyploidy as having these two extremes, really there's a continuum between them depending on how diverged the parental taxa are, and this will be manifested by differing levels of disomic vs. polysemic inheritance. I think it's important to include that in your writing, since this more nuanced view of polyploidy is also something that's emerging from all the recent research. Along the same lines, it would be worth at least mentioning segmental allopolyploidy; you could even give this idea its own section if you really feel ambitious!
