March 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Vancouver, Washington, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Battle of Bladensburg has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://bladenarch.blogspot.com/. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 02:15, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Colmar Manor, Maryland do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Colmar Manor, Maryland. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it.

July 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit Wikipedia too, under the username N5iln. Wikipedia is an all-volunteer operation and I am one of the many volunteers here who watch for unconstructive edits. Everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, but I noticed that one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to List of Jewish American entertainers with this edit, appeared to be unconstructive. I have reverted it and ask that in the future you please use the sandbox for test edits, not encyclopedia articles. For constructive edits, always provide an informative edit summary so that other editors like me have a brief description of your intentions. If you have questions about editing Wikipedia, you might want to take a look at this tutorial. Also, feel free to ask me questions about editing Wikipedia (or anything else) on my talk page. Alan the Roving Ambassador (User:N5iln) (talk) 22:28, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to List of Jewish American entertainers. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jayjg (talk) 22:59, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
