February 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Chiswick Chap. I noticed that you recently removed content from Tove Jansson without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please do not delete content from Wikipedia pages without explaining what you are doing. Further, do not edit-war by doing such a thing repeatedly. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Reason: Redundant category. The category "Writers from Uusimaa" is a parent category of the category "Writers from Helsinki".
In other words: Every member of the category "Writers from Helsinki" is by definition already a member of the category "Writers from Uusimaa". There is no need to state a fact twice. The category "Writers from Uusimaa" (as such, without the subcategory "Writers from Helsinki") is for those writers who were born in some other municipality of the Uusimaa region than Helsinki.

Putting personalities in categories requires a sourced mention in the article[edit]

Hello. I noticed you are very fond in putting people in numerous categories. For some categories it is quite obvious. But for others it requires a source. I am currently removing a number of Swiss personalities you decided without any source were "Swiss freemasons". Please stop that or source your edits.
