Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited West Bengal, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengal famine (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi @Tamravidhir:, the reason the removed the fourth para line in the lead section was because it was not sourced moreover it is loosely defined, other Indian states too are quite enthuse about football and cricket its not west bengal alone. Rather I would like to put west bengal is noted for extensive cinema, music, literature and arts, because on this areas bengal has shined and produced significant personalities compared to sport area. I must admit that mentioned "economic data especially too must details" in the lead was wrong and inappropriate as per wp:lead. My argument is mentioning only cricket and football doesn't represent real culture of west bengal which is noted for. Whats your view.Thanks--Aakanksha55 (talk) 04:26, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Restored your edits. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Lastly, "Bengal suffered multiple famines" is not a seemingly neutral point of view. Hence, altered that. --Tamravidhir (talk) 06:37, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Seeking collaboration

[edit]

Hi, Aakanksha55. I am Tamravidhir, and I am writing to you seeking a collaboration. This is in reference to Wikipedia_talk:Noticeboard_for_India-related_topics#Seeking_collaboration/assistance. I had helped Nawabs of Bengal and Murshidabad become a GA class in April 2012, however, as it stands today, a lot of its information is not properly cited and a lot of information is yet to be added. Similarly, a lot of work is required to be done on Bengal sultanate. I am aiming the Nawabs page for FA (tbf, even as a GA it stands terrible) and the Sultanate page for GA. Given my schedule, it is very difficult to work on it all by myself. I can do the research, provide with information, also keep helping with copy-editing, but doing all of it alone seems bleak. Given your involvement on certain Bengal-related pages, I thought of stretching a hand seeking help to you, given the silence of the rest. Will be hoping to hear from you soon. Regards and wishes. --Tamravidhir (talk) 12:28, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamravidhir: I don't have any idea about these subjects, moreover I'm not that expert in gathering source too. Nevertheless tell me how can I help you. @Fylindfotberserk: any help from your side.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 14:33, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I will keep providing you with the necessary information, write-ups, and sources. So that wouldn't be an issue on my side, and I can always keep reviewing the content and make minor tweaks. You will of course have credit for both these collabs. So that's not even a consideration. You may also use Wikipedia:ProveIt to simplify the adding of references to articles, as it has immensely helped me. This could perhaps also help you understanding these aspects of Wikipedia better. Hoping to hear from you soon. --Tamravidhir (talk) 16:27, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamravidhir: alright you provide me the sources/references and the writing, I will add those in the main article. But you must review the article frequently in case if I make any mistake because I'm new to Wikipedia, so chances of making mistakes are high.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 06:51, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, thank you! I will keep reviewing it. I have started working on the Nawabs page here. I am currently aiming to expand the section on the British rule period, as it is heavily underworked. I can keep re-writing the information on my main sandbox in a separate section and provide the sources here. --Tamravidhir (talk) 06:56, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I have been busy with three other articles right now. Can we start with Nawabs once I am done with them by this week? --Tamravidhir (talk) 06:01, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamravidhir: sure. Once you complete then you provide the sources in my talk page and the writing in the sanbox of your's. I will then transfer that to the main article.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 06:20, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest transferring the content to the main article only when done with copy-editing all of the article. I have a whole draft in my second sandbox with a section wise redraft at my third sandbox. You can access them all at User:Tamravidhir/sandbox. --Tamravidhir (talk) 06:22, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Tamravidhir: Great. Once you are done completely, let me know I will then transfer it to the main article.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 06:30, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I will keep notifying you and seeking your help. Thank you so much! Tamravidhir (talk) 06:32, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Indian National Congress

[edit]

@Aakanksha55: I hate to be the bearer of unpleasant news, but I'm afraid your edits to Indian National Congress are not what would be considered encyclopedic.

A lead on Wikipedia is a precis of article content. You need to read the rest of the article before you can write the lead. I thought you had read the article, but it seems like you have not. The article already has a Foundation section which describes the history of how Hume came to organize the first meeting with good accuracy and in an appropriate narrative style. You cannot independently write the lead, unless you have rewritten or expanded the article's main body in such manner or to such extent that a change is required in the summary. Please read WP:SS and WP:Lead fixation. To be able to write the leads of long articles takes time. My advice to you would be to choose small articles, even stubs, and cut your teeth on them. Also your citations are older than they appear. They should be:Nanda, B. R. (2015) [1977], Gokhale: The Indian Moderates and the British Raj, Legacy Series, Princeton University Press, p. 58, ISBN 978-1-4008-7049-3 (The Princeton Legacy Series are reprints. The book was published in 1977.) Similarly, Wedderburn's biography of Hume was published in 1913. It has been reprinted with some editing by a number of publishers. A 1913 book is typically not considered a secondary or tertiary source that we can use for our citations. I hope you take my remarks in the manner in which they were intended, nothing but helpful advice. Best regards, Fowler&fowler«Talk» 05:27, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Fowler&fowler: I welcome your advice. I was not rewriting the article lead as I have said earlier in the INC talk page that when you or some WP:India editors will get free time can rewrite the article lead. I just added the official founders of the party in the infobox and in the lead section. Thanks for providing me the updated sources, I will replace the source. Because I'm new, I don't have the expertise unlike you in writing an article. If i have done any mistake please fix that for me. Again an experience editor like you I always welcome your advice. I will read WP:SS and WP:Lead fixation. Thanks--Aakanksha55 (talk) 05:54, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

West Bengal

[edit]

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article West Bengal has been completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

There are a few small issues with the article I wanted to draw to your attention. Generally speaking text in the article's introduction (lede) does not require citations since this information must also appear in the body of the text where it is cited. I fixed a few easy examples of this which you can see from the article's edit history. However, there is information cited in the lede which does not appear in the body of the text. Again, there was one easy example which I fixed but more remain. Once those minor fixes are made I think the article is ready for its GA review.

Best of luck moving forward.

Twofingered Typist (talk) 12:24, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Tamravidhir: I applied for Copy edit of West Bengal article for future GA nomination, it has been done by @Twofingered Typist, he says some minor issues need to be fixed. Would you kindly look into those issue and fix it, so that we can apply for future GA nomination.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 12:44, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This would require identifying what information has been added in the lead which is not elsewhere in the article. To drop by a mention of WP:LEAD, by convention the lead is supposed to encapsulate briefly and succinctly the information in all headers of the article. It should not introduce anything new which is not in the main body of the article. Also, it is not necessary to have citations in the lead as the same information is covered elsewhere and hopefully cited there. I will try to look into the article. Thank you for bringing this to notice! --Tamravidhir (talk) 13:20, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Economy of Pakistan

The gpd(nominal) data which u have provided are just estimation of the IMF. The previous data was actually we're accurate data provided by the State Bank of Pakistan, the central bank. Re: Kolkata

[edit]

Hi, Kolkata has been tagged for a featured article review. Could you please look into this? There are a lot of information concerning institutions, companies, and neighbourhoods (under urban structure) which need reliable sources. The article is also in dire need of a clean-up, updates, inter alia. --Tamravidhir (talk) 08:09, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have that much experience on this issue. I think it would be better if you or some other editors hand this issue.--Aakanksha55 (talk) 08:21, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Thank you for them mentions on the talk page. --Tamravidhir (talk) 09:04, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
