License tagging for Image:Nkvemap l.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nkvemap l.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Tell us where you get your pictures from

[edit]

Please tell us where you get your pictures from, on the page for each picture. If you do not tell us where the pictures come from, all of them will have to be removed as copyright infringements.

Do not remove this notice, or remove the "no source" notices from your pictures, without saying where you got them from. That can be considered vandalism. Kimchi.sg 08:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The National Palace of Malaysian Head of State located in Bukit Petaling, Kuala Lumpur

[edit]

Yes, Bukit Petaling is also main places in Kuala Lumpur because Istana Negara (National Palace) the official palace of Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Malaysian Head of State) is located here. Aiman Ab Majid 27 June 2006

Thank you for your reply. I still don't understand what "main places" means. Is that a town, a village, a specific type of settlement ? Travelbird 12:36, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jambatan Parit Sulong bridge question

[edit]

This article currently states that the bridge was "constructed" in 1925 (which means both started and completed in the same year) but wasn't opened until 1930. This seems odd. Did you possibly mean to say it was started in 1925 and completed a few years later ? I notice you list your English skill level as advanced. I think you might want to change that to intermediate, as I fixed numerous grammar errors in the article. For example, you repeatedly said things happened "on" a year, while English speakers say something happened "in" a year. I do appreciate you writing the article and admit that I speak no Malaysian at all. Also, do you have any sources for the article we could add ? StuRat 02:10, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see you added that the bridge was completed in 1929, thanks. You're still saying things happen "on" a year instead of "in" a year, though, which is wrong. As for the reference you added, thanks again. Is that a book ? Do you know when it was published ? StuRat 02:16, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Main towns that are not so main

[edit]

I know that you love to write a one sentence article. But, if you want to do that, please, at least do it properly. Stop saying "X is a main town in Y, Z". What is so main about obscure towns? __earth (Talk) 05:20, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's great that you want to help increase the amount of information about Malaysia on Wikipedia, but your huge number of one-sentence articles aren't nearly as helpful or informative as one or two longer, comprehensive articles would be. I hope you will consider focusing more on quality and less on quantity. --Icarus (Hi!) 05:27, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stub articles

[edit]

Hi and thatnks for contributing the short articles on towns in Malaysia. It would be good if you could mark these as "stubs" (short articles which could do with being expanded) - to do this, just add {{Malaysia-geo-stub}} at the end of the article. This places it on Category:Malaysia_geography_stubs, so people with the requisite knowledge can easily find articles in need of attention. Thanks in advance! Language Names

[edit]

Hi there. I've noticed that you have changed "Indonesian" and "Malaysian" to "Bahasa INdonesia" and "Bahasa Malay", respectively. While these are of course the native names for these languages they are not the English names, upon which the English version of Wikipedia is based. For example English Wikipedia states the language of Germany as "German" and not "Deutsch". And in the Malay version of Wikipedia [1], English is referred to as "Inggeris", as this of course is written in Malay. "Englisch" in the German version, and so on, and so on. Of course, you can mention the native name of the language in brackets, as it is in, say in the Indonesia article, but the main reference needs to be in English (for the English Wikipedia). Unblocked

[edit]

Hello Aiman abmajid, you've been unblocked for the time being, but your requirement to stay unblocked is that you inform yourself about the Wikipedia policy that you've violated. By understanding why you were blocked, you can keep it from happening again.

  • Removing warnings from your talk page can be considered a type of vandalism. Doing so again in the future is likely to lead to a block.
  • Please take a look at Wikipedia's Image Use Policy and the various types of Copyright Tags. Before uploading any images, be sure that they are allowed to be used on Wikipedia, and that you know how to correctly label their copyright status. There is a good guide for that at Wikipedia:Uploading images.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I hope you are able to contribute to Wikipedia in a more helpful manner from now on. -- Natalya 16:14, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent "street articles"

[edit]

You've made several articles abotu dtreets all consisting of "X (Y) is the famous road and streets in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia." These articles don't explain why they are famous and the wording doesn't make much sense. If you wish to make new articles on topics can you explain why X is famous? –– Lid(Talk) 12:13, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate. I appreciate your enthusiasm but i don't really see the point of starting new sub-stubs . They don't convey any info. What I suggest is that you list all of these roads and streets under an article List of roads in Kuala Lumpur if it doesn't exist already. Then when there is enough information you can start the articles. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 12:22, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am starting that article so you can list the roads and streets under this rather than starting sub stubs. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 12:24, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About "main towns"

[edit]

Like what Earth said above (Main towns that are not so main), you are constantly creating articles such as "A is a main town in B". Most of the places in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and other places have all the nearly same contents. We appreciate your contributions, but can you write something more about that location instead of just writing the "A is a main town in B" thing. Those contents are actually not really useful and are just making the number of stubs increasing. Thank you and sorry if I misused the language. Acs4b 05:18, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you'll join me in renaming all these articles. I think only Masjid Negara and Masjid Jamek in KL should not be renamed in my format because they are more popular in their Malay Name. The Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas-SAE) was the first Gamuda Expressway to used the system on 1995 followed by Damansara-Puchong Expressway (Litrak-LDP) and Sprint Expressway (Sprint). However on 1 July 2004, This non-stop ETC system was no longer being used and replaced by Smart TAG and Touch 'n Go ETC system following the instructions of Works Minister, Dato' Seri S Samy Vellu that the implementation of a single ETC nationwide as a form of standardisation and convenience of use for road users. Hi! Of late, there is a recent fuss by people of angmoh background challenging the notability of these two articles and cats, and I feel that being a Malay yourself, it would be viable to access your opinion on this issue.

While I feel that Turkish Malays is indeed not very notable, I feel that the articles of these two topics are notable. To me, I feel that the Weterners feel that they are non-notable because they lacked the understanding of the history of SE Asian history and sociology. Practically, I feel that we should ask the opinions of the Malays and non-Malays of Singapore and Malaysia. About Rest Areas

[edit]

Aiman abmajid, firstly I would like to congratulate you for writing articles about many expressways/highways in Malaysia. Next, I think that some your RSA (Rest Area) articles are non-notable and are just adding up the number of stub articles. My suggestion to you is to create only important/notable/famous rest areas like the overhead restaurant in Sungai Buloh and the ones near Penang Bridge (if there are any). The other ones are rarely visited by tourists (ex:Dengkil). Keep up the good work in creating your articles! Thank you and sorry if I misused the language (Terima kasih dan tolong maafkan saya jikalau saya telah menyalahgunakan bahasa). Acs4b 03:32, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use image use

Greeetings! I've noted that you've created a number of templates like {{Petronas signs}} and added logos to those templates. The problem is the logos are all tagged as fair use images. As a result, per terms of Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #9, they had to be removed as fair use images are not permitted to be used on templates or any other non-main namespace article. If you have any questions about this, I'd be happy to answer. Thanks, --Durin 17:52, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Melewar Corporation and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Abdul Malik Mydin, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Capital?

[edit]

Is it necessary to have the word (capital) after the capital cities in state template (i.e Template:Kedah? It looks a bit awkward though. What bout merely bolding them though? --Zack2007 16:19, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. --Highway Specialist in Malaysia 0:21, 27 March 2007
I agree with Aiman abmajid, too. If we did bold the capital of each state, then, when we add it into the article (i.e Alor Star), it looks a bit "weird" and may result in confusion. So, I personally think that it is best to just retain the current version. Thank you. Acs4b 11:55, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Gce.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gce.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
