October 2007[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from History of the State of Israel. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as the text has been restored from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to History of the Israel Defense Forces appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:45, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Military history of Israel. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:46, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Amrotefa,

I just wanted to stop by and let you know a little more about why you're getting these warnings. While you are free to write the facts as you see them, I encourage you to visit the links posted in the notices above to learn more about what constitutes a neutral point of view. Essentially, terms such as "forcibly occupied" carry with them a weighted meaning, and our goal here is to present the facts, as determined by consensus (see The Five Pillars of Wikipedia for more information on what qualifies as consensus), without individual analysis or original research.

If you wish to argue that the facts presented on those pages are not neutral, please feel free to do so in their respective talk pages. I can't guarantee that you'll get the answers you like, but at least by doing so you'll be taking concrete steps that won't end in a reversion or, in the worst-case scenario, a ban.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Happy editing! --jonny-mt(t)(c) 07:51, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to History of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. Well, you've got the neutral point of view down pretty well--thank you for your effort. However, since the information you've added is highly likely to be contentious, your next step is to provide sources backing it up. If you can do that, then you're in the free and clear! Sorry to make you jump through all these hoops, but you've got the interest and knowledge required to make a great editor, so I'm just trying to get you off to a good start :) jonny-mt(t)(c) 08:40, 16 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
