Welcome![edit]

Hi, Andhw. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Our intro page contains a lot of helpful material for new users—please check it out! If you need help, visit Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask a question on your talk page. Hdjensofjfnen (Can I get a connection? California Birth Index[edit]

The California Birth Index is not a reliable source. Please stop using it in biographies of living persons. Primefac (talk) 19:49, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP policy violations[edit]

Once again, I urge you to stop using California Birth Index as a source in articles. As a birth index, it fails both of the following criteria:

  • (from WP:BLPPRIMARY): Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses.
  • (from WP:BLPPRIVACY): Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public.

Alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

BLP violations, again[edit]

I understand that you're editing in good faith, but I urge you to PLEASE take some time to read over the biographies of living persons policy; you must be careful to respect the subject's privacy by only reporting personal info that has been widely published, and not just in birth records. (again, see the subheadings WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:BLPPRIVACY) You may be blocked from editing the next time you disrupt Wikipedia in this manner. Ionmars10 (talk) 21:30, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

You are indefinitely banned (WP:TBAN) from biographies of living (or recently deceased) people.

You have been sanctioned for repeated addition of suppressable personal information sourced to impermissible sources in violation of WP:BLP (suppressed diffs: [1] [2] [3]) even after being repeatedly advised by editors and administrators and not responding or acknowledging those messages ([4] [5] [6])

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Editing of Biographies of Living Persons#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 21:42, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Andhw. I'm sorry to do this, but I simply can't let you continue to contribute to BLPs while every single day there seems to be another suppressable BLP violation even after repeated warnings and advice from editors. It just seems to me that you're not getting it. I'm happy to consider lifting or easing this sanction if you can show me that you understand what's wrong with your edits and commit to avoiding in the future. Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 21:42, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violations of Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:05, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Sorry Kevin, I blocked indefinitely as you were applying the sanctions. If you use some pixie dust you'll see why.
  • Andhw, not only are you not abiding by one of our most fundamental policies, you are actively thumbing your nose at them with logged-out edits. If you are able to successfully appeal this block by posting a proper appeal, the discretionary sanctions will apply. I've also blocked the account you abaNdoned in order to start editing with this one.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:05, 17 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request.[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I realize the mistakes I’ve made and I won’t do it again, and I have also reviewed the policy for biographies of living people really carefully. I love editing on Wikipedia and I’m very sorry.

Decline reason:

Saying you've understood something doesn't mean anything here; we need some evidence. In order to be unblocked, you will need to explain your understanding of Wikipedia's BLP policy, explain why your edits were in violation of that policy, explain why you felt the need to edit whilst logged out, and tell us how you will avoid such issues in future. What you have written so far, both here and below, is woefully inadequate for those purposes. Yunshui  10:22, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please specifically describe the nature of your mistakes and how they relate to the biographies of living people policy. Since you will not, at least in the short term, be editing articles about living people(due to the sanction mentioned above), what topic areas will you edit about? 331dot (talk) 08:09, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I will not use public records or any unreliable source ever again. I will edit any topic area that needs improvement. Andhw (talk) 15:36, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
