Speedy deletion nomination of Veronica Steele[edit]

Hello Anne Marie Power,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Veronica Steele for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Hello. I have added Veronica Steele's obituary from the Irish Times and declined this speedy nomination. @Onel5969:, please ensure you do a Google News search for a person before nominating for speedy deletion. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:17, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. I am a new Wikipedian, taking part in an Edit-a-thon about 'the missing women of Wikipedia (Ireland)'. I appreciate the help and advice of more experienced users, so many thanks Anne Marie Power (talk) 14:55, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We already have an article on Milleens cheese; it may be preferable to merge that article and Veronica Steele's articles together as they cover similar ground. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 15:12, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. I suggest that the page about 'Milleens' should be placed within the page for Veronica Steele, rather than the other way around (so that the creator has precedence over her creation!). Not sure how to do a merger on Wikipedia yet - shall I do a bit of homework and give this a try? Anne Marie Power (talk) 16:09, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
In general, I find that articles about products are more appropriate than people, as they transcend an individual's lifetime, so I personally would suggest the other way round. We can still keep Veronica Steele as a redirect, so you'll be able to type her name into the search box or Google and find it, it'll just be in the Milleens article instead.
