Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Conflict of interest?
[edit]Do you have any WP:conflict of interest wrt vision therapy? Bon courage (talk) 01:47, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- No. I did have a family member benefit from vision therapy in treating a post-traumatic convergence insufficiency, which is how I got interested in the topic. My (second-hand) experience there shaped my view that vision therapy is primarily based around, and has developed methods of adequately diagnosing and treating, convergence insufficiency. This is not the view the Wiki article takes, but I know enough about sourcing policies now to see why it is the way it is. But unless I’m misreading the COI policy I don’t think that this is an instance of one. In any case my most recent revision proposal is almost wholly editorial; I just want to clean up repetitive, extraneous, or unsourced information, not fundamentally change any claims. - Thanks for clearing that up. Second question (for transparency in line with WP:SCRUTINY): have you edited Wikipedia with other accounts? Bon courage (talk) 07:34, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- I have not. I have fixed a stray typo here and there while logged out over the years, but this is my only account (which I just made a few weeks ago) and only time engaging in involved editing or editing discussions AtavisticPillow (talk) 11:36, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- And the immediate suspicion that you may not be trying to participate in good faith based solely on three talk page comments doesn't alarm you? You are dealing with a hostile user, unless he sees you give enough fealty. 8.26.155.10 (talk) 00:58, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
