Lemurs! Eulemur rufus

[edit]

Nice Eulemur picture under true lemur by the way. It's super cute! Where was this picture taken by the way? The Duke University Lemur Center? I hope you continue adding to Madagascar themed articles, especially the lemur ones which see productive edits only once in a great while. I wish I new more about E. rufus so I could start an article... If you need any help navigating Wikipedia or have questions about formatting feel free to ask! Sifaka talk 23:37, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, The picture has been taken in the Isalo National Park in Madagascar. I went there last year. I am new on Wikipedia and I am going to add many pictures from this country in the next weeks. Bgag (talk) 23:53, 28 February 2008 (UTC) [reply]

I have been to Madagascar too, specifically Ranomafana National Park where I did research on the Milne-Edwards's Sifaka for Patricia Wright. Your pictures are wonderful! My lemur pictures were terrible because I didn't want to frighten them with flash, but I have some so-so pictures of other wildlife. I should consider adding them...Sifaka talk 00:00, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Places on the wiki project for the shutter happy

[edit]

Your photography skills are excellent! With this in mind, here are some places you might like hanging out on Wikipedia.

  • The requests for images board where users who would like to see an image added to a particular article make requests. It's a bit disorganized but you may be able to make someone's day.
  • The featured picture candidates board where users vote for the featured picture of the day and submit worthy images to be voted on. It seems like it involves quite a bit of politicking, so it may not be your cup of tea, but at the least you will be able to find other great photographers on Wikipedia.

Dromedary pic

[edit]

Thanks for adding the picture of the Dromedaries in Algeria to the Article Dromedary. The caption of the image reads "A caravan of the Ramirez family in Algeria with Donna leading the pack" --my reds. Can you clarify who Ramirez family and Donna are?. If they are not notable or not real entities please remove them from the caption. Thanks. (A copy of this post have been posted on the discussion page of the original uploader of the photo)--Hakeem.gadi (talk) 07:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was asking about the caption you added to the pic.-- hɑkeem¡ʇuɐɹɯǝǝʞɐɥ 14:39, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arak

[edit]

Hey Bgag, no offense was taken, I thought you were part of a long line of editors from Lebanese ancestry who come to that article and delete pictures of Syrian Arak, just to make it look like that Arak is nothing but Lebanese, when in fact Lebanon was part of Syria, before the French created in August 1920. That picture used to be the lead picture until a Lebanese editor who produces el massaya came and deleted and put the picture of his brand (promotion..basically). And then to inform readers that Arak is lebanese he went and added all those Lebanese brands. Arak is Eastern Mediterranean; that's it, nothing more nothing else. However the past edits of the said editors try to inform readers that it is a lebanese institution, when in fact there are more Syrians who produce and consume Arak, considering the fact that Syria has more Christians than Lebanon. (Lebanon is 40% Christian, Syria is only 10% Christian; but Syria's population is 21 000 000 and Lebanon has a population of 5 million. This means that there are 2 million Syrian Christians compared to 1.5 million Lebanese Christians.)George Al-Shami (talk) 03:40, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Golf, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Scottsdale (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
