Bean Station, Tennessee[edit]

Hi Bneu2013, I've substantially rearranged the article to be (hopefully) more consistent and useful. I've moved a lot of material around and retitled many subsections, and I've also merged a few sections. There's an uncited paragraph in "Demographics" --> "2010 census". Anyway, good luck with the article. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 15:02, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Baffle gab1978: - Sorry for the late response. The article looks good. Thanks for the copyedit! Bneu2013 (talk) 09:17, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I-485 review[edit]

Hi there, Bneu. I noticed you immediately failed my GA nom for the article. However, in my opinion, I feel that the close was a bit too hasty. Here's what I think.

1. About 2 to 3 months ago, you told me you thought the I-40 and I-85 articles weren't ready because they don't satisfy criterion 3. I looked at the criterion, and found a citation saying, The "broad in its coverage" is significantly weaker than the "comprehensiveness" required of featured articles. It allows shorter articles, articles that do not cover every major fact or detail, and overviews of large topics. I noticed that you told me to look at the I-40 TN article, which was an FA, but I don't think that it was a reasonable comparison since good articles don't have to meet the FA criteria, which are generally more demanding.

2. You had also given some issues that needed to be addressed. I'm usually quick to respond to comments from other editors, so I'm sure I would have been able to fix these issues before the review was closed. In defense, I think it was a little... unfair to close it a little early as it's easy for me to address the issues.

I'll probably reach out to the others on the GA talk page, but let me know your thoughts. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 12:21, 9 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NoobThreePointOh: - Sorry for the late response, I'm not as active as I used to be. While GAs don't need to be as broad as FAs, they still shouldn't be lacking of any important detail. As I mentioned, this article is lacking information about it's planning and background. Based on the other feedback I gave, I think the article also fails 1 and 2b, the latter almost exclusively due to dead links. The article isn't far from meeting the GA criteria, but still needs some work. If you disagree, with my closure, you can bring it up at WT:GA. Finally, I am aware that finding information about the history of roads, especially pre-construction history, can be difficult. I mentioned EIS's as a possible source, and if you don't have a subscription to Newspapers.com, I can do research for you. But don't give up; we've lost too many road editors in recent years, and don't need to lose any more. Bneu2013 (talk) 14:10, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, at least there's eh... a bit of a chance. I can try and fix the issues you mentioned. I'm actually in a different country on vacation right now, so my time zone is different, but for most of the time, I'm usually active. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:21, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I suggest fixing the major issues I raised before renominating. You don't have to deal with all of the minor ones. Also, let me know if you need any articles from Newspapers.com clipped. You can search and view raw text without a subscription; you just can't view PDFs of the articles. 14:24, 12 June 2024 (UTC) Bneu2013 (talk) 14:24, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I'll let you know whenever I can. I might be able to fix those issues on the 16th, since most of the time here, I'm not on the computer. 16th will definitely be a free day for me though. 👍 NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:29, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bneu2013 Also yeah, I may need an article from Newspapers.com. I can't really find a source for the beltway lying around Mecklenburg County. There was a site when I searched online, but it comes from the AARoads Wiki, which is obviously a wiki. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:39, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
An NCDOT map of Mecklenburg County should work. You can also use this to cite the route description. Alternatively, you could use a state road atlas like DeLorme. Bneu2013 (talk) 15:27, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. It seems that there's a lot of sources to look at. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 16:10, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
