Towns in Wisconsin-

[edit]

Hi-I like your aticle about the Boaz mastodon. It was well research and written. There is something I need to bring up:In Wisconsin, there are no townships just towns. You may want to read the Political subdivisions of Wisconsin which deals with the Wisconsin towns. It gets a little boit on the quirky, confusing side that the surrounding states of Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa used:townships, whereas in Wisconsin we just use towns and not townships.Thanks-RFD (talk) 16:46, 19 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nom

[edit]

I noticed your excellent article on the Boaz mastodon, so I nominated it for Did You Know at Template_talk:Did_you_know#Articles_created.2Fexpanded_on_February_18. I read what RFD had to say about towns vs townships. I've heard numerous people in eastern Wisconsin use the terms interchangeably. Maybe we just talk sloppy. Dreamtime Village

[edit]

Hi!I thought I should let you know that an article about Dreamtime Village does exists.I hope is helps-Thanks-RFD (talk) 16:21, 25 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just one quick note-I inserted a sentence about Dreamtime Village having a LaFarge, Wisconsin mailing address. This was in its website. That way people may not get too confused.Thanks-RFD (talk) 13:31, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Boaz mastodon

[edit]
Updated DYK query On February 27, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Boaz mastodon, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Advice

[edit]

Re: Edward Doty In addition to the warning above, I noticed you deliberately re-inserted your references in a style not preferred by Wikipedia even though the template was right above you. This often causes the bots and others extra work when others try to work on the article in between your references using the preferred citing method and a cite error is often produced. I will WP:AGF. Also your reinserted "an outlaw" as notable descendant if believed it would be a "notorious" descendant. Please do not reinsert. Thanks. Mugginsx (talk) 20:10, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My apologizes, he was both notable and notorious! I re-inserted. As to the referencing, it appears that your referencing was different in form; I will check the diffs again in case it was another editor. I have been repairing cite errors and it can be a real pain.Mugginsx (talk) 22:25, 27 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reference there does not state these phrases you wrote: 76 grandchildren and at least 358 great-grandchildren. or "of whom arrived at Plymouth on the ship ‘Francis’ in April 1634". I have the copy and use it as a reference quite often. I also looked here for you: http://www.americanancestors.org/pilgrim-families-edward-doty/ and could not find it. I restored it temporarily to give you time to insert a reference but then It will have to be removed again shortly if you have not found the reference.Mugginsx (talk) 11:16, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your most recent comment was answered on my talk page. Thanks Mugginsx (talk) 17:14, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
