linewrap problem[edit]

Hi! I noticed that you added line breaks in the coaching years section of the Bart Andrus infobox to "align" the coaching years but it actually was fine for me before and was wrecked by your edit so I presume we see it differently, which surprises me. I am unable to replicate your wrapping problem. I have added nowrap templates to the infobox so can you see if that corrects the problem for you? Thanks, DoubleBlue (talk) 19:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

>>> OK. Looks good. (Coolbrook76 (talk) 19:17, 16 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Good, thanks. :-) DoubleBlue (talk) 19:18, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, while I'm here, I was curious where you got the hex codes for the Argonauts colours. DoubleBlue (talk) 19:20, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

>>>> Directly from

Oxford: http://www.ox.ac.uk/staff/branding_toolkit/the_brand_colours/ (also in the Wiki article infobox)

Cambridge: http://www.admin.cam.ac.uk/offices/communications/services/identityguidelines/ (Infobox)

Good thing you brought it up. The infobox is off by just a little bit according to their official site. 99CCCC is the Hex code for Cambridge.

Hmm, while it's true that the colours were inspired by and are known as Oxford and Cambridge, I think it's better that we use the actual colours used. According to http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/2007/12/06/argonauts_logo_400.gif the light blue is 567eb9 and the dark is 04163c. DoubleBlue (talk) 20:50, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

>>> How about leaving the dark as is and then use the more similar pantone 284c (6699FF), from the .pdf core palette, as the secondary colour:  . (Coolbrook76 (talk) 21:00, 16 January 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I've no problem with that. My priorities are that the actual used colours are in the Toronto Argonauts article and that the colours used by the templates are close enough to identify and represent the team but still legible. The more standard light blue you've identified seems close enough to the one used today by the Argos and light enough to be legible when used with the dark blue. Cheers! Nowhere has it been mentioned that Ovechkin will replace Crosby in the starting lineup, while this source states St. Louis will simply replace Crosby in all aspects. – Nurmsook! talk... 22:34, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

running back[edit]

There is no need for capitalisation of this ordinary word.

GFDL rules do not permit a copy and paste move of articles since that loses the author history. DoubleBlue (talk) 21:27, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The correct convention is Running Back, not Running back. This is clearly indicated by both the NFL and the CFL. It is also correctly capitalized by ESPN. It is not a compound word like Quarterback. It's a (job) title and it shouldn't have been initially redirected.

Job titles aren't capitalised and neither is quarterback. DoubleBlue (talk) 22:19, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It might be used capitalised as title case in headings, of course. DoubleBlue (talk) 22:20, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate your intention to make things accurate and correct but that you were misled by the headings or writing style where you saw the title case used. Check out http://www.nfl.com/rulebook/lineup http://www.nfl.com/probowl/story?id=09000d5d80d60467 http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/story?id=09000d5d80021ece and Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL.

Also, you should not move a page by copying and pasting. We lose the author history of the article that way. See Moving a page. Cheers! DoubleBlue (talk) 23:56, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
