Welcome!

[edit]

Hi there! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like it here and stick around. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

A few tips before you start doing a lot of editing:

  • When you post something on a talk/discussion page, you can sign your name by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.
  • If you ever find yourself with nothing to do on Wikipedia, have a look at the Community Portal, you'll find that there's always something happening.

If you have any questions, comments, or just want to say hi, don't hesitate to write to me on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Happy editing! - Akamad 02:02, 26 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Czech_Hedgehog_D-Day.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 07:24, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:AK74.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:AK74.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the List of gangs in Grand Theft Auto series page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions19:52, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please excuse me of accusing you of vandalism, but what you did was still not a constructive edit: links should only be made to pages relevant to the context of the article, that is, only make links to pages that deal with the subject of the article. Elizabeth II doesn't have anything to do with the Grand Theft Auto series, let alone the gangs, so a link to her page isn't necessary. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions00:39, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
And forgive me if I seem hostile; I've been dealing with a few editors who are making my time here quite difficult for the moment, and I'm quite on edge. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions01:09, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Slipgate

[edit]

Slipgate, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Slipgate satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Slipgate and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Slipgate during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 22:40, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Stroggwall.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Stroggwall.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:11, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

10th Division of the NKVD

[edit]

Thanks very much for your translation of this article. I sometimes feel I'm alone trying to translate Russian military unit articles. Would you be willing to consider helping me with one of my translations? I've got User:Buckshot06/Chelyabinsk Higher Military Aviation School of Navigators running at the moment, though the article at it is actually 3rd Guards Spetsnaz Brigade. Would you mind helping me with a little or some of the translation? Kind regards Buckshot06 (talk) 11:17, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
