Speedy deletion declined: Aroha

[edit]

Hello Eingangskontrolle, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Aroha - a page you tagged - because: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. SoWhy 16:35, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from USS Saginaw (LST-1188). When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -MBK004 10:43, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

While on short pages patrol I found a redirect for which you posted a {{rfd}} tag but did not list it in the pile of nominations at WP:RfD. I've completed the listing on your behalf, and should you have a reason for wanting the redirect deleted, it might be a good idea to participate in the discussion. 147.70.242.54 (talk) 02:31, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

On 20 March, you tagged Adnan Osmani with {{rfd}}, but you did not complete the nomination by listing it at WP:RFD. Can you please complete the second step of the nomination per the instructions at the WP:RFD page? If you do not list it within a reasonable amount of time, I'll assume you no longer wish to see it deleted and will remove the template. Thanks. -- JLaTondre (talk) 20:16, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you would have had a look by yourself - this redirect is misleading. This person is just listed, not described. --Eingangskontrolle (talk) 20:42, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Just to let you know that this page has been tagged for clean-up for these reasons: 2nd entry doesn't have an article and doesn't meet MOS:DABRL; per WP:TWODABS and Template:db-disambig, this should probably be moved back anyway and a hatnote used if helpful.

Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 17:08, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So the EN:WP is missing an important article and needs to hide that fact? --Eingangskontrolle (talk) 17:42, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, but adding someone without an article to the WP index of articles (and that's essentially what a disambiguation page is) doesn't help. If you think this person should have an article, you can request it be created (I think that's at Wikipedia:Requested articles). I added links to guidelines above, which also show that regardless of whether the article was created, a hatnote is usually recommended when there are only two of this name. I appreciate that you're entitled to your opinion, but as I'd been polite, I was disappointed to see that you'd removed the cleanup tag with a rude comment. I tagged it for cleanup and let you know to give it time, and exposure to experienced editors, so that the article might be created or another way forward found, rather than just deleting something which doesn't meet the guidelines. Seeing my efforts dismissed with a revert and an edit summary of 'nonsense remark' was dispiritng and frustrating. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 09:28, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In the DE:WP we do it in this way. Its guides readers to the correct articel and avoids the later renaming. --Eingangskontrolle (talk) 12:45, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A few months ago, you participated in a discussion on Wikipedia talk:Did you know about Gibraltar-related DYKs on the Main Page. I am proposing that the temporary restrictions on such DYKs, which were imposed in September 2012, should be lifted and have set out a case for doing so at Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs. If you have a view on this, please comment at that page. Prioryman (talk) 21:47, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are receiving this as you have recently added an interwiki link to a page!

Wikidata has been deployed to the English Wikipedia. Wikidata manages interwiki links on a separate project on pages such as this. This means that on Wikipedia articles there is now a language bar on the left hand side of your screen where you can edit and add links rather than adding them into the articles themselves.

If you have any questions regarding Wikidata please use the talk page Wikipedia talk:Wikidata.

Redrose64 (talk) 14:30, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Big laugh - there is no language bar if the article had no Interwiki before. --Eingangskontrolle (talk) 13:25, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear E - you said that I introduced Template:218 in the text of Humboldt_River#Watershed_and_Course but I have no idea what this is and cannot find any reference to "Template:218" in the text. Please provide me with more info on what and how I should fix it, thanks.Schmiebel (talk) 9 June 2013 (UTC)

A hydrologic definition instead divides the Humboldt River drainage into two basins - one above and one below Palisade - based on the fact the flows increase above Palisade and decrease below Palisade. The river in the upper basin is 92 miles (148 km) long and in the lower basin it is 218 mi (351 km) long.

A tag has been placed on File:Yale's Hartmann astrolabe.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hi, I'm not sure this is how I am supposed to ask questions on your talk page so please let me know if not. I have checked and changed the article put through for speedy deletion, and I can see that someone changed the first reference on the article to the correct format. Is the article still up for speedy deletion and if so, do you recommend for me to do the same formatting changes to each reference? I want to do what I can for the page not to be deleted if possible. I agree that Wikipedia:red link states "Red links for subjects that should have articles but do not, are not only acceptable, but needed in the articles. They serve as a clear indication of which articles are in need of creation, and encourage it. Do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject." The subject is not notable and does not have the hope of becoming notable. She is listed because she is his wife and BLPs are permitted to list spouses if their names are supported with a reference. See WP:BLPNAME. She has been seen in his company at multiple events promoting his current series.

Montour Run

[edit]

Seeing as there are no articles for any of the other Montour Runs, and disambiguation pages are only supposed to contain existing articles, I would like to move it my article back to its original title if you do not object. --Jakob (talk) aka Jakec 21:42, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Günther C. Feigl moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Günther C. Feigl, does not have enough sources and citations laid out in an acceptable format to to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I would especially like to see your article following the style of other encyclopaedia articles here, and not be left for other editors to tidy up for you. So - just for now - I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline (which I suspect it does) and is formatted properly and thus is ready for mainspace, please hit the submit button on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Nomination of Günther C. Feigl for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Günther C. Feigl is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Günther C. Feigl until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 04:13, 27 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
