I hope you don't mind me pointing this out, but when you add a date to an article, could you spell out the month in words please, e.g. 26 June 2009, rather than 26/06/2009. This prevents confusion with the American style of putting the month first. This page has more details if you're interested. Re: Murrow stations[edit]

The info that I have at hand concurs with your statement that the stations should be West & East rather than North & South. Also it seems that there was a chord providing a direct route from Wryde to Guyhirne.

When I added the NPE map links and created the Cambridgeshire closed stations template back in Dec/Jan I was probably referring only to the NPE map which names one station as Murrow and does not name the other, and so I assumed the station names in the articles were correct.

Incidentally, you could have saved yourself some hassle by using the move tab to rename the station articles. This keeps the revision history from the original article, although it does leave the original articles as redirects, which are not required in this instance. The original articles can then be deleted.

Dates[edit]

Please refrain from using purely numeric date formats on Wikipedia, as you did on Berkswell railway station. A date written as 01/02/03 means 1 February 2003 to a European, 2 January 2003 to an American or 3 February 2001 to a Japanese. Rather, use one of the date formats that is standard across Wikipedia: 28 June 2024 for articles on British/European topics, June 28, 2024 for articles on American topics, otherwise just keep it consistent throughout the article. Formats such as 28 Jun 2024 or the ISO format 2024-06-28 may also be used where brevity is desired such as in tables. Official Handbook of Stations[edit]

I'd like to suggest that, to make articles more readable, you could avoid using the Official Handbook of Stations code letters and instead spell out what they mean in words. For example, instead of

According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G, P & H and there was a 3 ton 10 cwt crane.<ref>1956, ''[[Official Handbook of Stations]]'', British Transport Commission</ref>

you could say

In 1956, the station handled goods, passenger, parcel, horse, cattle and miscellaneous traffic, and there was a 3 ton 10 cwt crane.<ref>1956, ''[[Official Handbook of Stations]]'', British Transport Commission</ref>

Nomination of Lache railway station for deletion[edit]
