One thing you'll note is that British Wikipedians will write the way they always do; there's nothing inherently wrong with this practice, and it's been discouraged to try to make something out of it. However, in article where the subject is exclusively British, or exclusively American, the spelling rules of that particular country are kept as a matter of civility. - CobaltBlueTony 17:16, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Haberg

[edit]

Since you were so kind as to add your advice for pronouncing Swedish sj, could you describe u and y for me? I'm wondering specifically how the lips are, if they're pursed outward or compressed toward each other, and which sound has the lips like French u / German ü, and which has the lips like French ou / German u.

Thanks, kwami (talk) 21:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your exquisite explanation. It would seem then that the diff between fyra and fura is indeed rounding, and that Swedish fyra is closer to German für than Swedish fura is? kwami (talk) 18:27, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thanks. Hmm, good to know, but still difficult for me to apply to the articles. If you take a look at File:Exoendo.png, can you tell which corresponds to fura and which to fyra, assuming you pronounce them similarly? (I've got my assumptions, but I've gotten mixed up more than once.) kwami (talk) 22:10, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Julius Reubke, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adagio (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
