Orphaned non-free media (File:OfficialCOA47.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:OfficialCOA47.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:09, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed on oc.wikipedia

[edit]

Hi Jfblanc! I found a plant article with a title spelled incorrectly. I cannot do the page move on oc.wikipedia. Can you help with this? After moving Pntaphragmaceae to Pentaphragmataceae, the Pentaphragmaceae article should not be left as a redirect, as it is a spelling error created by the English Wikipedia. --(AfadsBad (talk) 14:46, 29 September 2013 (UTC))[reply]

The article Pentaphragmaceae should be at Pentaphragmataceae. This was a bad mistake in spelling made many years ago on the English Wikipedia. Would you please correct this? Thank you. --(AfadsBad (d) 28 setembre de 2013 a 22.43 (UTC))

Great! When I find a problem of this nature, I am impatient for a correction, even if it has had 7 years to spread into thousands of mirrors and google hits. --(AfadsBad (talk) 17:14, 29 September 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Wikilinking

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This applies to infoboxes, too.

Thanks, and my best wishes.

France 1812 Map

[edit]

Hello. Sorry for my late reply. I have abandoned my wiki user account and I'm mostly using the one from Commons (user:Andrein). Thanks for the information regarding Val d'Aran. I made the correction to the map, using the borders of the current comarca (I hope they are the same). https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/France_L-2_%281812%29-en.svg

I plan to do a complete revision of this map sometime in July or August. It was one of my first vector maps and it needs a graphic update.

Cheers, Andrei

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Help with Romanian?

[edit]

Hello, I'm trying to write an article about a Romanian cave, Topolnita Cave, but I've run into a bit of a problem and I wondered if you could help me? I'm finding that English-language sources about this cave are reporting a length of 20.5 km, but the two Romanian news sources I've found say 11,000 m. Google Translate doesn't do well enough with Romanian so I can't tell if it's a translation error or what. Is it possible for you to have a look at these two Romanian sources and tell me what they're saying about the length? [1][2] I think there's a chance they're describing maybe a particular passage of the cave but I really can't tell. Any help would be huge, thanks! ♠PMC(talk) 23:03, 9 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

(Note: by clicking the links in the following paragraph, you will be taken to Google spreadsheet.) If you'd like to help us with translating a subset of the section titles on or before 2018-05-01, please read and follow the instructions. Bonjour

[edit]

Deletion discussion about Heisei (novel)

[edit]

Hello, Jfblanc, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username VickKiang, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Heisei (novel), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Heisei (novel).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|VickKiang}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
