Welcome to the Wikipedia!

[edit]

Hello, and Welcome to the Wikipedia, Ketorin! Thanks for the copy edit over on the 2004 United States presidential election controversy, exit polls article. And thanks for taking time to point out some obsolete Wikilinks and disambiguation links in the text below, which have now been revised, and for the ensuing homework assignment. The following is not a standard Wikiwelcome; it was originally derived (and slowly modified) from the welcome message used by ClockworkSoul a year or so ago. Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:

And some odds and ends: Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Verifiability, Village pump, and Wikiquette; also, you can sign your name on any page by typing four tildes: ~~~~.

Best of luck, Ketorin, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 17:39, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ikea

[edit]

hi, just so know of the option, it's often better to place a {{fact}} tag next to a sentence you're not sure of, instead of deleting it.

(that makes [citation needed]).

Thanks :) -Quiddity 20:54, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your feedback Quiddity. My comment on the IKEA change was wrong, I was actually sure that the comment I deleted was not correct. I'll be more careful with the change comments in the future. Thanks, --Ketorin 21:17, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

W in 8 words

[edit]

The merge into the other 2 articles is partially attempt to reduce redundancy, and partially because it's not 8 words no matter how one counts it! It is being slowly merged into the other 2 more official pages. Thanks. -Quiddity 20:59, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Uh - I am sorry but I don't quite get what you mean. So is it so that these two articles are more official than 8 words article, and that is why the 8 words article needs to be merged? Whatever is the case, please clarify it in the discussion page Merge section. Thanks, --Ketorin 21:11, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Np :) thanks for prompting me into getting around to summarizing it finally. My comment at 8 words directs everyone to Wikipedia talk:Simplified Ruleset#Merge suggestions?. -Quiddity 04:26, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
