Protection of Platinum

[edit]

You recently protected the page Pokemon Platinum here. Protecting the page seemed very over the top to me, the page was not "Subject to heavy and persistent vandalism." Wikipedia policy states that "In particular, it (page protection) should not be used to settle content disputes." The content being added by that anonymous IP was not vandalism remember to Wikipedia:Assume good faith. Even if the edits do constitutes vandalism, seeing as it was only one IP address adding this in it did not meet "Semi-protection prevents edits from anonymous users (IP addresses), or from accounts that are not autoconfirmed." The discussion has been up for a little over two weeks, and there has only been one response. That is a pretty clear indication that nobody else seems to care enough to weigh in on the issue. I'm going to redirect it again, and if you have any strong feelings about it, please just use the talk page instead of reverting outright. TTN (talk) 17:39, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

With The World, there is really nobody interested enough to really work on that series. The merge discussion for the characters went from December '07 to last month only because nobody ever preformed the merge. A tag has been placed on File:Pokemate logo.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay.
