DeFeo
[edit]Hi Matthew Wellington, pages like DeFeo should be marked either as a disambiguation page or a surname page, not both. If you would like to make it a DAB page, you can add a surname category tag like this - {{disambiguation|surname}}

- Thank you so much for writing here and telling me about this, I will be keeping this in mind going forward and keeping a more watchful eye in regards to this. I appreciate this, my friend! Matthew Wellington (talk) 21:49, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Copyright
[edit]Good Morning I received an email from you about using copyright material on the Neapoli, Crete info page? In 2022 we made a community based website - nepoli-crete.com to help provide information for the Town and just thought it would be helpful to add some add additional information from our website for your readers. All of the website content has been complied by ourselves and I simply copied this from the website. I the am new to this and not sure how to go about updating the information and thought it would just editing the Neapoli page. Do I just have to attribute the neapoli website as a source for these additional comments?
Many Thanks StewNeapoli StewNeapoli (talk) 05:39, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hey @StewNeapoli, a very good morning to you too!
- Thank you for writing on my talk page and for your willingness to not only contribute to Wikipedia but also to learn — it's always nice to see new people wanting to help make Wikipedia a better place in the most positive way. To answer your question, the copyright violation came from a different website (here). I left a detailed information-sheet on your talk page (here) which goes over how to avoid violating copyright and what the best way to use other sources is, without unintentionally infringing on their copyright.
- I hope this helps! 👑 Matthew Wellington – 06:03, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Mathew
- Many thanks for quick reply...I have tried to to link for violation but keep getting "Oops! We couldn't authenticate your session".
- Thanks StewNeapoli (talk) 08:15, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- That's my bad, sorry, you'll need to first login using your Wikipedia account on the CopyPatrol site and then view the copyright violation (here), that should allow to then be able to view it properly. Let me know if it still causes any issues! 👑 Matthew Wellington 15:34, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
Kodezi Inc. moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Kodezi Inc.. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and you may have a possible Conflict of Interest. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. S0091 (talk) 16:38, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Matthew Wellington. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Matthew Wellington. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Matthew Wellington|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. S0091 (talk) 19:03, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @S0091 & @Drmies
- Thank you both for writing on my talk page and allowing me a chance to explain myself in regards to Kodezi Inc.
- I want to start off by saying that I don't have any affiliation whatsoever with anyone related to that company nor was paid or expect to be compensated in any capacity for writing the Wikipedia article. I work as a political consultant in a publicly traded company in England, U.K and do Wikipedia edits as a hobby. I am happy to share my credentials should there be any doubts but any administrator should be able to see my email that is linked with Wikipedia and confirm this.
- I have no need to be writing in return for compensation. I often try and look for companies that lack a Wikipedia page but feel as though deserve one through online searches and came across that Kodezi company on Product Hunt and found it interesting enough to write about. I have never had any contact with anyone at the company nor did I reach out to them. I conducted all of my research using publicly available sources. 👑 𝓜𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓱𝓮𝔀 𝓦𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰𝓽𝓸𝓷 (talk) 08:34, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- You also need to explain EV.com and Gulstan Advisory. On all three articles, almost none of the sources you use mention the topic. @Drmies take a look at Gulstan Advsiory. I haven't cleaned that one up yet and given it was created in 2023 it will need to go AfD. S0091 (talk) 14:45, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
I agree with S0091. That Kodezi article--well. Drmies (talk) 21:46, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
The article Gulstan Advisory has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
None of sources cited mention Gulstan, their website does not exist and could not find anything via a Google and ProQuest search.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. S0091 (talk) 15:26, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
