Please note that wikis are not considered reliable sources, medically reliable sources or appropriate as external links (see point 12). Thanks, WLU (talk) 14:54, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You posted a comment in my archive. Please post on my talk page. WLU (talk) 18:07, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note that you also seem to be the webmaster or something similar for wikisurgery. This places you in a conflict of interest, and is another reason you should not be adding the page to wikipedia. At best, you could try bringing this up on individual article talk pages or perhaps the medicine wikiproject for others to review and add to the page if they think there is merit. I don't hold out much hope for that though, it's a small wiki, and it's a wiki. There's no real support for wikis as reliable sources or external links. WLU (talk) 18:14, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to insert inappropriate links I will have to permanently suspend your account. JFW | T@lk 09:39, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your question on WLU's talkpage:[1] it seems your resource is not peer-reviewed. Therefore, however relevant and useful the information, Wikipedia's sourcing policy opposes the use of other wikis and self-published sources. How about you drop by on WT:MED, where we can discuss the options for improving surgery-related content on Wikipedia. JFW | T@lk 09:45, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of More about Scalpels

[edit]

A tag has been placed on More about Scalpels, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 12:58, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:113000715-DO-NOT-Scalpel-+-.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 14:58, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting

[edit]

Just three minor tips that might make your "Wikilife" easier:

  • The pipe trick for Wikipedia articles works like this: [[some page|some other text]]. This results in some other text being visible. You just need to stick the character that looks like this: | in between the real article name and the words you want to display. The bar is called a pipe.
  • If you're linking to a full URL (anything starting with http://), then you only need one set of square brackets: [2] Double brackets, which are required for articles, look a little funny: [[3]]. URLs don't use the pipe trick to add text: they just leave a space: Wikipedia's main page
  • To sign your name, you just need four tildes: ~~~~ It will automatically add your name, talk page, and the time. (I think that three tildes is just your name, and five tildes is the time without your name.)

Hope this saves you some hassle, WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:45, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
