Question about English football league editing

[edit]

Sorry to disturb you, but could you tell me, if I can edit certain English football leagues more frequently so that you would have a little less to do and could concentrate on other things a little more?

Hi there. I'm not sure what your intention is with this page but it has little context right now, so I am asking you to please make it clear as soon as possible. Else I will flag it for speedy deletion. Qwghlm 17:51, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Peterborough United F.C. season 2007-08, by PeeJay2K3 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Peterborough United F.C. season 2007-08 fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

because the subject matter is non-notable and can be found on any football website

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Peterborough United F.C. season 2007-08, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Peterborough United F.C. season 2007-08 itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:23, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Premier league 2008-09

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that on the 16th of March, 2008, you removed Portsmouth from the list of teams confirmed to be mathematically safe from relegation. I just want to clarify that any given team, X, can only be relegated if 17 other teams in the premier league can simultaneously finish above team X. The reversions you have made seem to imply that you mistakenly think (by my logic at least), that safety is determined only by whether the team occupying 18th spot can mathematically finish above team X. PS Sorry if this comment came across in any way as personal, I tried my hardest to make it content related. Funkyduncan (talk) 17:36, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just a note to thank you for changing my age for me! I forgot my Wikipedia age was still 19, you are very observant! Regards, Andy. Andy4226uk (talk) 10:06, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I just wanted to let you know that I removed the {{User wikipedia/Administrator}} from your userpage seeing as you are not an administrator. Please do not add userboxes to your page that imply user rights that you do not possess. It is misleading and confusing to other editors, thank you.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 04:24, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wondering about a change

[edit]

Hey. I noticed you've made a fair few edits to The Football League 2008-09 so I was wondering if you would take a look at this and see what you think of it? I'm just looking for thoughts at the moment, it's not a full-fledged proposition for change, but anything you add to the discussion would be great - even if it's just saying whether you like the idea or disagree with it. Thanks. Falastur2 Talk 22:54, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice

[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Proposed deletion of Shaun Rogerson

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Shaun Rogerson, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Notability not established per WP:MUSIC or WP:BAND. All cited sources are self-published or fansites.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Rodhullandemu 22:09, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article 2011–12 Boston United F.C. season has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:FOOTY consensus that clubs must compete in a national league (so for English football, from Premier League down to Conference National) for season articles to be considered notable.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Triathlon at the 2013 Island Games, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Fenwick (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invitation to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
