Hi. I just came to know that my user account was blocked. The reason being given is that I am a sock-puppet of another editor. Although like most people I read Wikipedia a lot, I am a complete novice when it comes to editing Wikipedia articles. I just read up on 'sock-puppetry' and other Wikipedia jargon and I assure the Wikipedia administrators that I am neither a sock-puppet nor a meat-puppet of any one. I can understand your concerns which made you suspect me to be a sock-puppet. when I created my Wikipedia account not long ago, I happened to be reading the book "Invading The Sacred" on which the Wikipedia article in question is based. In my zeal I went ahead to edit the Wikipedia article and ended up using the same style that other editors of the article were using which I now realize is highly objectionable with regard to NPOV. When I realized that an edit war was going on I tried participating through the talk page about three weeks ago but decided to stay out of it on realizing that being new, it would be too overwhelming for me. I stayed out of the dispute but kept following the talk page for 'Invading the Sacred' out of personal interest. The dispute now seems to have been resolved and the article looks better as per Wikipedia norms. I was planning to explore more and start editing other Wikipedia articles especially those related to the area of my profession but just realized that I have been blocked. It is my sincere appeal to the administrators to reconsider blocking my account and give me a chance. I give an assurance of doing a proper study of all the Wikipedia norms before I decide to edit any article. All this happened because I am a new user and acted without doing the proper homework and also probably because I chose to edit an article whose content is sensitive and over which an edit war was underway. Thank you.
