TfD nomination of Template:False accuser

[edit]

Template:False accuser has been nominated for deletion. This template was created by a user to counter false allegations of sockpuppetry. I hope you feel this deserves your support. Please comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. Mallimak 20:07, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion

[edit]

Hi. I would suggest that you and User talk:Lenincymru2007 try to avoid one another for a little while. You both need a cooling-off period, and I don't like to see your edit war moving from one article to another. As the experienced user, you should take the lead and show him how compromise can be achieved. Deb 22:00, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deb. Good suggestion. I have made some very significant compromises on the Plaid Cymru article tonight and accepted his edit on Welsh Labour in full (though I have moved it), So I hope we can deal on this basis. I will now take the opportunity to cool off. Tks. Normalmouth 22:07, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be fine to include the stated "aims of the party" and also the manifesto points verbatim from the Plaid Cymru website. Anything else might be a bit dodgy. Deb 16:12, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plaid Cymru

[edit]

Be aware that it's possible that this LeninCymru user could be a "Cyber-bully". I dislike his user-page being unedited. Amlder20 18:03, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. Lenincymru2007 is a new contributor and potentially has much to contribute to Wikipedia. I need to try and find a way to work productively with him and to convey that, where something has been well sourced (e.g from reliable academic sources as you suggest), there needs to be a proper reason (i.e beyond his general feeling that he doesn't like it) for it to be removed or edited. His input into the Plaid Cymru article has obliged me to do more reading, research into the party's history and improve the article; now that I have I find it more than a little frustrating to find him dumping meticulously sourced references because he misguidedly thinks they show the party in a bad light (as if that was ever the criteria). To that end, I would value enormously someone who could give a view on whether some or all of the disputed edits should stand. Can you help?

Neo-facism The source you cite may have an inherit bias and agenda as well. In fact, because of their use of the word neo-facism out of context it begs the question weather one could trust anything else from Morgan, K O, Drachenfyre 08:13, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are clearly unaware of the work of Kenneth Morgan, one of the most respected Welsh political historians. I suggest you review some of his output. Normalmouth 08:20, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Western Mail/Neo-Facism usage. Thank you for pointing that useage out in the Western Mail. The Neo-Facist artical should be updated to show that a politican in Wales in 1943 used the term Neo-Facist (weather or not it was a political attack akin to character assination). I think it would add to the concept that you could be a neo-facist when the older facist governments were still in existant, and contrary to accepted useage of the term.
I have not critized your mulitple sources since you have included them. But, I would still caution where these sources are coming from and what agenda they may have. Especially in a heated political environment. To highlight facist sympathies so greatly for Saunders Lewis would beg for equal treatment of other political politicians to an equal degree.Drachenfyre 08:10, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assembly Measures

[edit]

Assembly Measures are approved by the Welsh Assembly alone. In a comment you made in the Wales article discussion page that Welsh Laws will have to be passed by Parliamant is true, but the exact Measures are not passed by Parliament by order in council. The act shows that in order for an Assembly Measure to be drawn up the Assembly will need to submit an order in council to request power to make that law, once Parliament agrees to that order, the Assembly does not refer to Parliament again. I am interested in a detailed dicussion about this. Amlder20 21:03, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome

[edit]

Much appreciated. Am fairly new to editing and will of course include your links in future pages. Have recently finished creating pages for each and every AM that has been elected (most were already on here) as well as other 'Wales' related pages. Have also noticed that you have a Web log - I take it there is only one Normal mouth :-D Best wishes! Glamorgan 08:46, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:DASGX12.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:DASGX12.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rlest 12:02, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

cyberpunk is a known genre in film, is sourced, and has achieved consensus. There was a debate a few months ago about that and film noir, of you look at the talk page. Therefore, I hope you won't mind if I revert your edit. You are free to take the issue to the talk page, of course. --Rodhullandemu 22:06, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bonfire

[edit]

Sorry to disappoint but bonfire is orientated around the failed plot to blow up 'king and parliament' by Catholic plotters. Its two other main influences are remembrance and disgust of the Marian Persecutions in Lewes and remembrance of fallen soldiers is also central.

There are many other issues intertwined such as statements against persecutions of native americans (CSBS's pioneers are native americans) and topical, contemporary issues highlighted by the effigies.

In all it is a celebration of personal liberty and all things against red tape!

The failed Gunpowder Plot is where it all stemmed from I'm afraid.

New Wales Coast Path WikiProject

[edit]
Living Paths! Logo

As a member of WikiProject Wales, WikiProject Cardiff or an user who has contributed to Welsh articles we invite you to contribute to a new project, Living Paths!: articles, images, translations... Lonely Planet rated the coast of Wales "the best region on Earth" in 2012, yet there is a very low number of articles on the history and culture of places along the Coastal Path. This promises to be an exciting project as it gathers momentum with many Users joining in across the world.

If you are interested in training groups in Wales, please leave a message on the Talk Page.
Let's make this WikiProject, like the path itself, the best on earth! And let's put Wales back on the map!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi, at Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge we're striving to bring about 10,000 article improvements and creations for the UK and Ireland and inspire others to create more content. In order to achieve this we need diversity of content, in all parts of the UK and Ireland on all topics. Eventually a regional contest will be held for all parts of the British Isles, like they were for Wales and the Wedt Country. We currently have just over 1900 articles and need contributors! If you think you'd be interested in collaborating on this and helping reach the target quicker, please sign up and begin listing your entries there as soon as possible! Thanks.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:40, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This month The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There is over £3000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. Wikimedia UK is putting up £250 specifically for editors who produce the most quality new women bios for British women, with special consideration given to missing notable biographies from the Oxford Dictionary of Biography and Welsh Dictionary of Biography. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate independently this is also fine, but please add any articles created to the bottom of the main contest page even if not competing. Your participation in the contest and contributing articles on British women from your area or wherever would we much appreciated. Thanks.
