MMMW pic

Hi O. I hope you are well. I saw your edit here. My memory started nagging me so I took a look at the file. While it matches your edit I am about 99% sure it is mislabeled. I found this image and it helped the nagging to quiet down. It along with many others shows that Edie has the light blue scarf wrapped over hear head throughout the film while Dorothy has a yellow scarf around her neck. I thought I'd check with you before making any change to the caption. If you agree with my WP:OR :-) then I need to mention that I almost never work with files so I don't know if there is any way to correct the error in the description. Thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk 04:26, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

No, you're absolutely right, and it makes sense as well, since Adams' character is married to Sid Caesar's character, who she's standing next to in the photo. But the real bottom line is it is clearly Adams in the photo. Comparisons with other photos of the actress clearly show it's her. While I don't mess with editing the actual image files, editing the description is simple, just like editing here, but you do it on Commons. I've corrected the image file caption. I hadn't really looked when I reverted, simply checked against the existing caption, AGF that the file uploader had gotten it right. Thanks for catching it. Thanks for your reply and for making the necessary edits. I am having an early Xmas next Tuesday. The Criterion Collection is releasing this box set that day. I get a little more excited for their arrival each time I watch this. I hope you have a pleasant weekend. MarnetteD|Talk 15:39, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Phoenix (Sorry!)

Sorry for the misunderstanding about the Five C's of Phoenix. I should've been less lazy in looking for confirmation, and definitely should've gone to the talk page before changing information on a city thousands of miles away from me. I was a bit bothered as well by the use of parentheses twice in one paragraph within the lead, but it's more a personal issue than a readability issue. Even with that in mind, would it be better to move the mention of the Five C's term into the body rather than the lead? I feel like the sentence before the Five C's stresses the importance of agriculture and industry strongly enough, and if you strung that previous sentence together with the bit about WWII and tech advancement, it could still get the same message across in fewer words. (Also, I meant for the "In fact" in my edit summary to be a light-hearted joke, but in hindsight, it made me look like a sarcastic jerk, so... sorry for that too!) BruzerFox 14:06, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

No worries BruzerFox... I was just writing a message on your talk page. The 5 C's, while as commonplace as terms like "Valley of the Sun", or "The Big Apple", was used by the newspapers of the day to describe economic conditions during the early and mid-20th century. In fact, it was so well known, it was even used as the nickname for amateur and semi-pro teams during that time frame. I completely agree with your removal of the "In fact", (I wrote it originally, and in hindsight am amazed it lasted through the GA review), as it intrudes a sense of informality into the article. However, I think that the continued importance of those 5 economic drivers late into the century is a pretty important fact and was very influential in developing the city. As such I would argue that it deserves a mention in the lead. That being said, that's just one editor's opinion. If you feel strongly about it, please take it to the article's talk page and see what other editors feel. btw... I didn't think you were being a jerk, didn't take it that way at all. And you shouldn't feel awkward about editing about cities far away. I do it all the time.Onel5969 TT me 14:17, 6 December 2017 (UTC)

101 Dalmatians Street

Can you do my page next? It's called 101 Dalmatians Street from Disney Channel — Preceding unsigned comment added by PoundPuppy44 (talkcontribs) 23:38, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi PoundPuppy44 - not sure what page you're talking about. Is it Draft:101 Dalmatians Street? If that's it, you need to "submit" it to AfC, where it will get placed in the queue. There's a huge backlog at the moment, so the sooner you get it in, the sooner it will be looked at. To be honest, I'm not sure it passes WP:NFILM, as principle photography has not begun yet. Please learn what can and cannot be added. You need to reference any additions, and not add commentary. Right now, you are simply edit warring with several editors. Continuation of that practice may get you barred from editing on Wikipedia. Take care.Onel5969 TT me 13:33, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Ship naming conventions

Just a heads up, but WP:NC-SHIPS actually advises the opposite of what you did at Italian destroyer Ascari. I've reverted the move, so no harm done, but figured I ought to let you know for the future. Thanks, Parsecboy (talk) 16:28, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks Parsecboy - that seems bizarre in relation to normal WP naming conventions. But will keep it in mind in the future. Onel5969 TT me 21:25, 12 December 2017 (UTC)
No problem - and actually, natural disambiguation is preferred to parenthetical disambiguation per WP:NCDAB, it's just that it doesn't work very well for many areas. Parsecboy (talk) 21:53, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

00:13:28, 14 December 2017 review of submission by Makhdoomadnanshah

Dear concern, I was writing an article on the saint, and i found another article on the town named after him so i wrote everything there. And at the same time, I submitted my draft as-well. But then i got the rejected that it's already there, so i undo the previous one and re-submitted mine. As the name is different from the town name. Kindly approve the article, so that people can view and know more about the saint/person. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makhdoomadnanshah (talkcontribs) 00:13, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Non-resident Indian and person of Indian origin, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Telugu (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Sources for strong ale

Can you explain why you think the sources for Strong Ale aren't valid given that the books are from independent, commercial publishers, by authors who are professional journalists respected in the field of beer writing? Thanks Haldraper (talk) 12:32, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Haldraper - I said nothing about the sources. However, the way you used them is not valid as a reference. Please see WP:CITE and WP:CIT about how to use and format references. If I put Encyclopedia Brittanica down as a reference, that's not valid. References need to be specific so that researchers can find them. Simply putting down a book name doesn't accomplish that. I actually didn't evaluate the sources to see if they would pass WP:RS... at a glance, I don't think there's an issue with them. Hope this helps. Take it easy. Advice on Reid Collins & Tsai

Hi. Can you please take a look at Reid Collins & Tsai article? I noticed that you are a member of WP:WikiProject Law and decided to ask for your advice. This is my first-ever law article and don’t have much expertise in the field. Should something be added to it? Since the company has a bad history of edits (it was been created by a sockpuppet editor who declined that he has been paid) I want to make this article as good as possible. Also I truly think the company is notable. Thank you in advance. -- Bbarmadillo (talk) 19:16, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Bbarmadillo - I'm not sure where you thought I was part of the WP Law project, but I'm not. I do review AfC (articles for creation) occasionally. Looking at your draft, if I reviewed it I would decline it, since it is very promotional. Onel5969 TT me 00:12, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for taking a look at it. An sorry for the confusion. Any ideas on how to make it less promotional? -- Bbarmadillo (talk) 04:13, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays
From Stave one of Dickens A Christmas Carol

Old Marley was as dead as a door-nail. Mind! I don’t mean to say that I know, of my own knowledge, what there is particularly dead about a door-nail. I might have been inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the Country’s done for. You will therefore permit me to repeat, emphatically, that Marley was as dead as a door-nail.

So you see even Charles was looking for a reliable source :-) Thank you for your contributions to the 'pedia. ~ MarnetteD|Talk 23:18, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

Parlament of Albania

Hi, the reason I couldn't move the title to "Assembly of Albania" was because that title already existed so it wouldn't let me. Is there a workaround for this? The name Assembly is the official correct name used by the legislative government. Kj1595 (talk) 14:26, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Kj1595 - absolutely. You can put in a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Although, the citations seem to indicate it is called the Parliament, rather than the assembly, but I'm not sure about that. Onel5969 TT me 14:29, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

revision?

Can you explain your revision of my edit? I don't understand why this doesn't deserve a stand alone article similar to micropenis, as opposed to a redirect?

First, please remember to sign your comments. Second, you should always provide a link to the article you have a question about. Third, I did in my edit summary, but to reiterate, the term used for the title of the article is unsupported in the sourcing. It's a stub, and could be handled more appropriately in the broad discussion of the target article. Onel5969 TT me 14:31, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification, I am new to the ways of Wikipedia. Regarding the terminology, it has changed over time, and certain publications use different synonyms, so I am not sure why the article is not appropriate considering the delineation of the synonyms in the article. Perhaps you can expound on your determination. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrogers1000 (talkcontribs) 09:14, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

The reason for unreviewing is because the redirect keeps getting reverted, and I'm not sure if the revert sends it back to NPP or not - do you know? I just don't want it to not be watched until it becomes a stable redirect. I've contacted an admin who has dealt with that editor in the recent past. Just wanted you to know. New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Onel5969, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.
  • The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Atsme📞📧 22:07, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Onel5969, it is my understanding that when an article in the NPP feed has issues that trigger an AfD, we should remove it as being "reviewed" so it won't be indexed. Is that your understanding as well? Atsme📞📧 22:17, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
Hi again Atsme - Not sure. My understanding was exactly the opposite, as that would remove wasting editor's time in looking at the article. If it survives AfD, then it's reviewed, and if it doesn't, then there's no point. Is there a policy/guideline I'm missing? Onel5969 TT me 23:20, 30 December 2017 (UTC)
