A tag has been placed on John Gray (mythologist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or an organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I recently edited this article and found a couple of phrases needing clarification. One is noted, but the other is a sentence that (after my edit) now reads, "The general idea of his works is that with proletarian education at all levels, the bourgeois state is playing a dangerous game and is the architect of its own downfall." Can you confirm that this is the proper meaning? --LilHelpa (talk) 19:07, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Önder Çakar (filmmaker) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Kurdistan WikiProject

[edit]

Hi Paraw,

I saw your work on articles related to Kurdish culture and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch the WikiProject Kurdistan talk page, which is a noticeboard for Wikipedia's Kurdish coverage. It's a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to Kurdish culture. Take a look for yourself!

And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider adopting a cleanup category or participating in one of our current formal discussions.

Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Welcome to Wikipedia! Hope to see you around. czar 22:47, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I saw that you recently created this category and its subcategories. How are "Apoist organizations" and "Apoists" distinguished from the existing categories for Kurdish organizations and people? I spotchecked several of the articles in Category:Apoists and none of them put a special emphasis on following Öcalan/Apo. Unless being follower of Öcalan is a "defining" trait that isn't covered by existing categories, I recommend undoing the creation of these new categories. czar 22:47, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Czar, all of that organizations and persons have been categorized in that category are seeking the political issues of Kurdistan and Kurdish people on a basis of Apoist worldview and most of them are following Apo's theories and thoughts; which of them is not included?Paraw (talk) 23:12, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If the person/organization's article doesn't address the importance of them following Apo's theories/thoughts, then we wouldn't consider their Apoism a "defining" trait. For example, where is Mazlum Doğan's following of Öcalan described as a defining feature of Doğan's life? Would every Category:Members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party be described as an Apoist? If the distinction is unclear, it's better to not use/create a separate category and instead use defining associations. Being a member of the PKK is concrete, but is it realistic to draw an explicit line between Apoists and non-Apoists? czar 23:48, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I ask you dear Czar, what about the marxist-leninist parties? Are we do this rigor also about the members of Marxist-Leninist parties? Can we say all of members of Marxist parties are believing in Marxism-Leninism? I think following from a Apoist or Marxist party is enough to lable a person Apoist or Marxist, because these terms are not imply only on subjective aspect of a theory, but a practical aspect, and when we speak about a Marxist, Apoist or Maoist person we are speak indeed about his/her praxis which contains both subjective-theoretical and practical aspects of those terms. Furthermore I didn't consider all of PKK members as Apoists, because some of them (Like Osman Öcalan, Nizamettin Taş, ...) were not remaind as Apoist and we can't consider them as exemplified of that term. I think if we want to know the real identity of PKK an Apo and the related stream and figures of Apoist movement, we should categorize them as their real praxis and that's nothing but Apoism. I think it's enough to consider PKK as a Marxist-Leninist party, which does not apply to.Paraw (talk) 00:14, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Since Marxism is an ideology, an individual can fit under the categories "Marxist" and "members of the Communist Party USA" if the sources describe them as such because those would both be defining traits. We could do the same with "Apoist" and "members of the PKK" but is Apoism an ideology that defines a person? And if so, do sources define who is an Apoist and who is not? My hunch is that it's premature to have Category:Apoists for the purpose of categorization. czar 01:12, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You're right about that, but Apoism is an Ideology too like Marxism, and addly is an political tendency just like Hoxhaism. Mayby we have not any sources that say who is Apoist and who is not, but we have a stream or tendency which contain aspects of this term. I think if we want to categorize some people and some organiations like PKK and it's sister parties, we have to call them Apoist which show their both ideology and political tendecy.Paraw (talk) 16:43, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Kurdish philosophers by century indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 01:08, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kaak

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Kaak (pastry) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Kaak (bread). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. @Natg 19:Dear friend, if you pay more attention and read the text of these two articles, you will realize that Kaak (pastry) and Kaak (bread) are two different and separate topics and have only a lexical similarity. These two topics require two separate articles, and their problem cannot be solved by moving them. Apparently, I shouldn't have moved the page content and disrupted the article's history. A wrong link in Wikidata caused this error. But attempt to merge them again is also another mistake. If you want to keep the history of articles from being ruptured, it is better to rename the articles rather than merging them again. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that and that's all I could do. Please help to solve this problem if possible.Paraw (talk) 06:11, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe the articles should be merged into one. But the article history is messed up because you copied and pasted the content to another place. If you wanted to make a new article about the pastry, you could have done that without changing the existing bread article. Natg 19 (talk) 07:05, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Natg 19:How can I change the names of these two articles? I can't use Move because thae other one already exists due to my previous mistake! What can I do now? Paraw (talk) 07:48, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I submitted a request to fix the edit history, so hopefully someone can deal with it soon. Natg 19 (talk) 07:49, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Natg 19:Thanks a lot.
