Your images[edit]

Hi. First:

Welcome!

Hello, Peekablue, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Second: you cannot upload images without tagging it (putting the correct copyright info on the page). And if you upload a file that's found freely on the web, chances are it's under copyright. All the images you are uploading are being deleted because of the lack of info. If you are not careful, you may be banned from Wikipedia. SKS2K6 07:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Further info: any picture found on the ANTM site is under their copyright and therefore unable to be on Wikipedia. Wikipedia perfers its pictures of people to be free use. The only way a picture is free use is if someone takes a picture of someone (say, Mariah Carey) and puts it up on a site like flickr (I believe in its statement of use or whatever, it says that flickr pictures become public domain, provided that they're not copyrighted to begin with), or uploads it here and states that he or she is releasing all copyright to it. Hope that helps. SKS2K6 07:15, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Public domain[edit]

You have tagged a number of images with {{PD-self}}. This can only be used for images that you have created yourself. Unless you are the photographer who took Image:JanelleCommissiong.jpg, Image:Kerryannewells.jpg and Image:AMPAROmuñoz.jpg, you cannot use these tags. Guettarda 01:53, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:JanelleCommissiong.jpg[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:JanelleCommissiong.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. Please go to its page for more information if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 02:27, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with Image:Kerryannewells.jpg[edit]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Kerryannewells.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

If you are actually the photographer and copyright holder of that well known photo of Kerry Anne Wells as Miss Universe 1972, please explain. Note that false copyright claims are considered vandalism, for which you can be blocked from Wikipedia. If any information on images you have uploaded are inaccurate, please correct such. If you do not understand Wikipedia policies or practices, please ask. Please reply here on your talk page to acknowledge that you have seen these messages. Thank you. -- Infrogmation 02:51, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Universe articles[edit]

Thanks for adding pageant titleholder bio infoboxes to Miss Universe winner articles (much appreciated!) - but can you please refrain from adding the images? You are adding them with incorrect licenses and they in fact cannot be used at all because they are replaceable fair use. By continuing to add pictures you are creating a lot of work for me to tag them all! -- PageantUpdatertalk | contribs | esperanza 01:51, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Kerryannewells.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Kerryannewells.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Danielleevans.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Danielleevans.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image:13-vi.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:13-vi.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 48 hours after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 13:18, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yoanna.jpg[edit]

I have tagged Image:Yoanna.jpg as {{replaceable fair use}}. If you wish to dispute this assertion, please add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}} to the image description page and a comment explaining your reasoning to the the image talk page.

Blocked for continued copyright violations and false statements of image ownership[edit]

You have been blocked for repeatedly uploading copyright violation images, repeated putting obviously false statements of copyright status and ownership of images you have uploaded, and failure to discuss or correct problems which have been repeatedly pointed out to you. -- Infrogmation 18:07, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
