quick question from the quebec templates discussion
[edit]Would sovereinty be similar to the arrangment of Scotland within the U.K? or would it be a looser affiliation?Mike McGregor (Can) 22:00, 11 February 2006 (UTC)
- Both sovereignists and independentists want Quebec to be a country, with its constitution, the power to raise taxes, to make laws... independently of Canada. So no, it's not similar to the relation between Scotland and the U.K. However, "independentism" is associated with hard liners, and I'm not one. I don't hold any hard feelings towards anglophones, I don't care about what happened 150 years ago between us, and I don't want sovereignty to be the exclusive ideology of white francophones. Hi there
[edit]Good to have your comments on the Evolution article. Tim Vickers 21:27, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
- Go right ahead, I'd suggest replacing it with another of his books, since he is very well-known, perhaps the Selfish Gene? Tim Vickers 18:36, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
LaTeX
[edit]Hi, I'm just very curious to know which program you used for the SVG version of LaTeX output.-PhDP (talk) 19:26, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- I actually used pdflatex to make a pdf, and then used Adobe Illustrator to turn characters into outlines. This is undoubtedly possible with apps like Inkscape, etc., which are free, but I have more experience with Illustrator. :) --jacobolus (t) 08:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Suggestion of new link for the article:

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
