Thank you for your comments on my talk page. I never take recognition lightly, so again thank you. I got word of the article on the Award Center, so if you see any articles in need so much like Larry Jennings please let me know.--LAAFan 00:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Loldong?
Just one more quick question (completely unrelated to my userpage) :P. I'm a 'crat and a sysop over at the test wiki, but how can I become a loldong? And probably more important, what is a loldong? Cheers, Perfect Proposal Speak Out! 01:04, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Help Desk Contribs
I went through a bunch of your most recent edits to the help desk and I found that they were generally helpful, well thought out, and often provided links to policy. I did find this edit, which was a poor choice. Never type in all caps, it's equivalent to shouting. Other than that, I think you're doing a good job helping people on the help desk. My userpage
So, I'm sure by now you've noticed that my userpage looks like it was designed by a guy who just joined Wikipedia. Because it was. I haven't really changed it, cosmetically, since I created it a very long time ago. I'm trying to revamp it and I noticed you do a lot of work in that area. If you have any ideas or suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Useight (talk) 01:50, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- He, for some reason I knew you would ask. Sure, I would like to renovate your user page. Well, I do need some specifics from you. And if you want a design I mentioned under the "Some pages I've designed" section of my user page, then so be it. Any specifics or design you would like to have similar to? --RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 01:59, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, it took so long to respond, I've been trying to get User:Useight/Navigation working (which I stole from you and combined with stuff from VanTucky's nav bar). Just getting that going has been a nightmare. I don't really have any ideas for a complete goal or design in mind. I was thinking maybe some collapsable parts that can be opened at the viewer's discretion. I also wanted to add some color, like some red and black. Maybe a couple scrollbars. I don't really know. I basically just want it to look cooler, yet remain as simple as possible. Useight (talk) 02:17, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll see what I can do. I'm actually pretty experienced with wikimarkup and codes. I can just look at the coding and I can manage how to use it in just minutes. I think my user page design would be perfect along with those scrollbars. My old version of my user page before my current design had lot's of scrollbars. Also, do you want me using User:Useight/Navigation and using my user page design for your user page? The reason why I wouldlike to use my design (modified) is because your using almost the same nav bar I'm using. -- RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 02:27, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- I suppose it could look something like yours, but not too similar. Useight (talk) 02:35, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Alright. It will generally take me a few days. You may start seeing new items on your userpage, so keep checking. If you have any comments during the process, please tell me. Thanks. -- RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 02:46, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Just remember, simple and clean looking, doesn't look too much like yours, and no putting "This page created by RyRy5" tags. Thanks. Useight (talk) 02:54, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Alright, I may not even make it like mine actually. I'm still thinking what design would I should use that will fit your nav besides mine for now. Just be sure that when others ask you if you created your user page design, that you say no or by saying who renovated your page.--RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 03:00, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why would I say that I designed it if I didn't? I would obviously point the inquirer your way if the topic arose. Useight (talk) 03:06, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's not like I think you would do that. It was really just a reminder. --RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 03:07, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Can you make the white space between the userboxes black as well? Useight (talk) 05:33, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I can't. That is a wikitable that your user boxes are in. You can't change the color backround of a wiki table. I'm planning to put your userboxes into a scrollbar. Also, I am going to be offline shortly.--RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 05:45, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

Userpage and blocking details
I like what my new userpage design is shaping up to be. In the end, I switched it to a blue color scheme. As for your questions about blocks, a cool down block is when you block someone who is angry in order to give them a chance to let out some steam elsewhere and relax before coming back to Wikipedia. Cool down blocks should never be used. An autoblock, as you can read about here is a technical measure within the software that automatically blocks an IP address that corresponds with the account that was blocked. This way, if a vandal is blocked, they can't just continue vandalizing with their IP address. Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I was out and about getting some stuff done. Useight (talk) 01:50, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Cool down blocks can't be used because they don't serve the purpose that they would supposed to be serving. A cool down block, if they actually worked, would give the editor a little time to relax and to move on, but what cool down blocks actually do is just make them mad. Blocks are only to be used to prevent disruption to the encyclopedia. Useight (talk) 02:02, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Test Wiki?
Hi Ryan,
I've made a Request for Rights at TestWiki - could you poissibly sort me out?
Thanks,
BlueGoblin7even 09:28, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- "I was wondering, do you have an account on The Test Wiki? If not, you should make one. It can help you in the future if you plan on becoming an admin" — er, how? It certainly won't help at RfA itself, and being an administrator at Test Wiki doesn't magically give you experience or discretion. Daniel (talk) 10:19, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Was that aimed at me? In which case, i'm aware of that fact. And i'm already an admin here, here, here, here and many more i can't be bothered to list - I am heading over there as i'm not yet a sysop here, and it would therefore be strange to admin coach - so it seems more sensible to do it there!
- Thanks,
- BlueGoblin7even 14:25, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Erm, it would have been better to ask at the test wiki. This is wikipedia, not an outside world of the test wiki. I wouldn't want to anymore go offtrack in converstaion to something that is non-wikipedia related. I'll go to the test wiki... --RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 15:56, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
GAs
Please don't give false advice like this. You are not the only person allowed to nominate that article for good article status. Anyone can nominate it, regardless of how frequently they have or haven't edited the article. What you said is false and it borders on believing that you own the article. Metros (talk) 16:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I thought if you haven't significatly contributed to an article, you can't nominate it. It also mentions something similar on the GAN template. Do you mind showing mw where it says others can nominate articles they haven'y significatly contributed to and get credit for it? --RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 16:54, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Right at the top of Wikipedia:Good article nominations you'll see the words: "Articles can be nominated by anyone, and reviewed by any registered user who has not contributed significantly to the article." And it's got absolutely nothing to do with credit. Why is that always the bottom line with you? Getting the credit so you can slap a barnstar on your user pages and brag about it. It's not all about that. Metros (talk) 16:57, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's not like it's not allowed. And I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about like what happened to me at DYK. I nominated an article but I am not allowed to add it to my icons. It dpesn't say anywhere that I can't add templates I get to my barnstars. Others do it too even if they didn't contribute to it. In this situation, I was confused if GA and DYK had the same rules. I thought in GA, that you could only nominate articles that you significatly contributed to. Someone along the lines taught me that.--RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 17:02, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- There's a difference between nominating for GA/DYK and "receiving credit" for it. Just because you nominate it doesn't mean you "get credit" for it. Metros (talk) 17:05, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- RyRy, you are getting things mixed up here. The DYK was a different issue, where your nomination was rejected based on the reasoning, and another was taken, so it didn't make sense that you still put up the barnstar that kind of came here in error. You really need to step back and check policy before doing things like removing a user's good faith nomination. Always think to check policy first, or ask someone, before doing something you are unsure about, or you are going to keep running into these situations. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:07, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Right, what this is appearing as is "Oh no...another user nominated it for GA status; now I won't get the shiny barnstar if it passes!" Metros (talk) 17:11, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- not saying that that's how you're intending it to be...just that it can easily be interpreted as such. Metros (talk) 17:14, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- (Ec) I didn't know that others can nom articles they haven't contributed to, that's why I alerted LAA that way. I misunderstood the criteria of who can nominate. Thanks for clarifying that, Metros, I was a little confused. No let's just move on form here. I understand it now. But I do believe baseball uniform isn't ready.--RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 17:18, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- You are right on that, but the article is on its way. Needs more info on little league. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:19, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes it does. It is on it's way, but not entirely ready. It still needs more expansion, refs, and more details on some parts, including the little league.--RyRy5 (talk ♠ copy-edit) 17:26, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Any chance I could convince you to spice up the WP:PHILLIES pages with colors and such, the way you did with the WP:CUBS page? I'd appreciate it; I don't know how to do any of that funky stuff. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 16:33, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Erm, I didn't do WP:CUBS, but I did do WP:LAA, along with the other userpages I've redesigned.--RyRy5 (talk) 16:36, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- My bad. I saw all that stuff and thought you did it; I know you're a whiz with userpages, I saw your work on your own. I'm jealous. Either way, if you wouldn't mind, we'd appreciate it. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 16:39, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Sure, why not. It will be done shortly.--RyRy5 (talk) 16:41, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Recent reverts review
I saw you asked Steve on his talk to review some of your recent reverts. The first two I checked were both incorrect. This and this. I'm not sure if they were just mistakes, but can you explain them? Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 17:56, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Both of them, I read the wrong way. I accidentally thought that the left side was the one added on both of those diffs. --RyRy5 (talk) 17:59, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, that's what I thought. I reviewed several more, some are OK, some are not. I'm not going to throw a bunch of diffs up here, just give you some advice. When you see some level of page blanking, you cant just assume it needs to be undone. You just did this on a French actor's page, reverting an editor who was actually making good faith revisions to the page. He removed a list of films the actor had been in, none of them being cited, less than half even having a wikipedia article. You can't just swoop in and revert his edit without further looking into it. You should always consider further looking into anything that isn't blatant vandalism. Gwynand | Talk•Contribs 18:03, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
{ec}Exactly. Always give editors the benefit of the doubt. Have a look over some of my older contributions, when I did a lot of reversions. I'm probably a good person to learn off by that, but, it's best to look over the edit closely and evaluate it, rather than undo a constructive edit. And don't worry, with the amount of users on the site, unproductive edits are quickly removed. And remember, quality over quantity. Steve Crossin (talk) (review) 18:10, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks for alerting me. --RyRy5 (talk) 18:05, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Another thing: don't worry about simply ignoring a recent change that you clicked on if it's tough to decide if it was vandalism. I admit, the french actor takes some looking in to. It's not a failure on your part if you choose to leave that one alone. On the other hand, the recent change that add "I love poopy" to an article can easily be zapped by you. Just a thought. Re: Your sig link
Are you talking about the "'H" in my signature? What's wrong with it? I think I need to have iMatthew help me with it, he created my first one and I've modified it a little you may know him. <font-family:"Tahoma">ZACH 18:13, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
