You will be able to check that in the article history, click the "view history" tab on the article and then check the revisions starting from your contribution to see who removed it. The edit summary should explain why, if not you can ask on the article talk page. The most common reason for removing text added to an existing article is probably that no reference is cited, see WP:V. - Ahunt (talk) 14:58, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Canadian International Air Show references

Thanks for your help as I am new on here.

I have been working for a while to properly identify this accident and lucked out yesterday afternoon.

I found a cached entry which took me to the AFAC site. Under the pilots name NORRIS, F/L Howard Russell were the details of his death.

No problem. Glad you were able to find those other accidents. You wouldn't happen the URL for the information on the AFAC site? I couldn't find anything there related to the accident. I can include that as a citation for the accident. Also, you put in a link as a citation for the helicopter incident that did not work. You wouldn't happen to have correct link for that? Thanks again for your help fixing up the article. I hope you stay on Wikipedia and contribute more information that may be lacking in other articles. I'm no techie and so having my issues. But this is easier than I was expecting. I will straighten out those issue shortly. In the meantime, under the "List of Airshow accidents and incidents" I need to make an entry for 1957 but there is box for that year. Are you able to make one for me? I found the entry by googling "cf-100 crash 5 september 1957". Google yielded a cached response which took my right to Norris' page. The url(?) that I saw at the top of the page was "airforce.ca/awards.php?search=1&keyword=1&page=560&mem=&type=rcaf" I will try this again, feel free to take whatever action necessary to get the entry in. Hi Brian, the source documents all associate the incidents to the air show. Both Transport Canada, the governing and oversight body for air shows and civilian air show performers in Canada, and DND, the oversight body for military performers in Canada, associate these incidents directly to the Canadian International Air Show (though misnamed in some reports). Dissociating the incidents from the air show is contrary to the information provided and I think inaccurate. Would you pls review the source documents and get back to me. This may be so, but for the purposes of Wikipedia and the article, they are not air show occurrences. The intent of the article is to explain significant incidents that actually occurred during an air show in front of the crowd. If you would like to discuss this further and get further input from others, I would leave a message on the article's discussion page so that we can get consensus on this.  BC  talk to me 16:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Where exactly is the intent of that article defined? The title of the article doesn't include those restrictions. Is there any reason another article could not be written about accidents and incidents directly related to the show but not actually occuring in front of the crowd? If so pls make a new article for me. The emergency declared by Snowbird 5 in 2001 did occur in front of the crowd and they witnessed the remainder of the show with one plane missing so it would still fit your criteria. During the 2009 show there was a risk of mid-air collision during a performers act but during a repositioning turn and so not visible to the crowd. Is that outside the article intent also? Sounds like I'm giving you a hard time, I don't mean to, I appreciate all your help. I just disagree with your call on this one. Thanks again. If the incident is as you described, indeed please put it in. As for the other ones, I still think they're a bit dicy, but please re-insert them if you think they are relevant. We may get some more feedback on it. As for another page, it's probably not necessary, but if you feel it would be a good idea, propose the idea in the Canadian International Air Show discussion page. Hi, I just meant more feedback other than mine. It may be good to see other folks' ideas and responses. BTW, I like your s/n website (at least I think it's yours). Lots of great info.
