PLEASE HELP ME

[edit]

I am not quite sure on what to do with my page, or how everything works. If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful to hear about them.

I was wondering what other people's opinions on the otherkin religion since that was the article this talk page is attached to. Solon Olrek 18:01, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

First off, otherkin isn't a religion so much as an ... identity or belief, but that's a discussion for another time.

Just because I put that I'm an otherkin on my userpage, doesn't mean it's an appropriate place to have a public forum of discussion re: 'kin. My userpage isn't even about otherkin, really, it's about me -- and my talk page isn't attached to the Otherkin article, either. You're looking for Talk:Otherkin.

Thanks. Switchercat talkcont 19:31, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem

Hey, don't worry about it. I take breaks from Wikipedia myself. It's fun being a Wikipedian, but we have the rest of our lives, too. =) Christknight 05:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And, on a different subject, you say you like computer games. Do you, by chance, play World of Warcraft? --Christknight 05:45, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen the Magic card game before, but I never really got into it. The card game for me is Yugioh. Have you ever played that one? I love that game, but I haven't gotten the chance to play it in a while. I even have three highly powerful decks: Dragon, Warrior, and a Chaos/Devastation prototype deck. I guess you could say I'm a bit big headed about it; but it's true, there are very few who can beat me at Yugioh. --Christknight 19:41, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, many people say that Yugioh was formed from the Magic game. True, Magic was around before Yugioh was, but that's only in the USA. Yu-Gi-Oh, as with all other anime, was created in Japan, and the first Yu-Gi-Oh mangas were released back in the 80's. So the truth is, Yu-Gi-OH was actually around before Magic, just not in the states. But Yugioh also has online dueling and trading at yugiohonline.com, though I never got into that either. I stick pretty much to the traditional TCG. I don't know why - if I like Yugioh - I never liked Magic that much. I think it's because Magic seems more serious, even down to the artwork; it seems less cartoony, and more...ouchy(on some cards). Heh, all I'm saying is, I guess it's just a style preference. --Christknight 19:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I failed to explain myself comletely. Yu-Gi-Oh was around back then, but the Yugioh TCG we know today (Duel Monsters) was not. Originally, the Yugioh books didn't focus much on card games, it was just based more around the life of Yu-Gi-Oh himself; however, they did play a gome called Magic & Wizards every once in a while in the books. That game kind of morphed into Duel Monsters over time. However, that game wasn't released(the TCG) until later, also. Magic, as a TCG, came out before the Yugioh TCGs did, but the Yu-Gi-Oh in general was around first. I don't have the exact dates of when the Yugioh books started, but I think it was very late 80s or early 90s. So you're right that Magic was a TCG before Yugioh was.

When I said that the artwork was more serious and...ouchy, I meant like more gruesome and gory(on some cards). Now, I play some video games that are kind of gory, but I'd just prefer not to have a deck of cards with that kind of pictures on them. As I said above, I think it's pretty much a matter of which style you prefer. --Christknight 20:10, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to go to another talk page, some others I watch are Christianity, World of Warcraft, and Nintendo. But WoW and Nitendo usually stay pretty quiet. However, there's always some serious and knowledgeable talk going on on Talk:Christianity. If you want to jump in there, feel free. --Christknight 20:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, it's cool. I support the Military, and I think it's cool that you're thinking about joining it. Which branch of the Military do you think you'd want to be in? Christknight 19:30, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's a good deal! But if that's all you're signing up for it for, what if you end up actually having to fight? After you get the money, are you gonna pull out of it? How does that all work? Christknight 19:31, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's pretty cool. Just make sure that if you do get sent to Iraq, you tell me before you go. Soldiers these days need a lot of support, and if you do end up getting sent out, I'll be praying for you. As long as you've got God on your side, you'll be fine. Lost Books

[edit]

This is a great topic and worthy of more discussion. The last 50 years has brought a great deal of new information to the forefront. Bart Erhman is an excellent resource. The articles in question are all highly edited and get a lot of attention. Continue to be bold in applying your ideas, but it would probably be more fruitful to continue to bring proposals first to the discussion page and "float" your proposed ideas and language. Unless you get strong opposition, then include it in the article. Often times others will only provide tweaks to improve and at other times we learn why our idea may not be the best choice. Cheers. --Storm Rider (talk) 18:57, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
