Image Tagging Image:STH 1 Eggmobile.JPG
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:STH 1 Eggmobile.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ReyBrujo 18:06, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Hercule
[edit]Your page moving stuff was a MESS. I reverted it.
It doesn't matter what Toriyama calls him originally. We have this thing called '"use English naming". We speak English. We use what is used in English-speaking countries. WhisperToMe 22:56, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Let's say we use what the creator of Pokemon intended to name Bulbasaur, Fushigidane. It would be pretty silly for an English-language Wikipedia, wouldn't it?
WhisperToMe 23:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
There are countless scenarios where the original creators' name is not used. Or, where it is used is because the English manga does so.
For instance, Kamehameha is used in the English manga. WhisperToMe 15:57, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
"Then what about Ii Shenron? His foregin name (don't know if that's Japanese or Chinese) is used in the title of his article when his dub name is clearly something different." The English-language manga uses Shenlong WhisperToMe 15:55, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Hells Flash
[edit]Well, I didn't create the article nor did I know of it's existence before you mentioned it :)
Anyway, the manga naming did NOT, in fact, have to do with censorship. Read the censorship article for a definition of the term. The TV version didn't air on terrestrial TV so I don't think the renaming decision had to do with anything government-mandated either (the TV station itself may have made a request, but I don't think that formally falls under censorship) WhisperToMe 16:08, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Anyway, in some ways Wikipedia's an oligarchy - The people who care about certain articles make the conventions there... WhisperToMe 16:12, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
"Yes it does use Shenlong. But what about the Yi/Syn/Omega part?
Starone 03:43, 1 August 2006 (UTC)"
I changed it to the dub name, but someone else changed it back. WhisperToMe 03:45, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Requested move of Hercule (Dragon Ball) to Mr. Satan (Dragon Ball)
[edit]Okay - Some users decided to request a move from Hercule (Dragon Ball) to Mr. Satan (Dragon Ball) - See: Talk:Hercule (Dragon Ball) WhisperToMe 20:58, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
It's happening again at Talk:Hercule_(Dragon_Ball)#Survey WhisperToMe 03:14, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
And here we go again
[edit]Oh joy - another move request. Logic isn't enough apparently.

Dragonball Wiki
[edit]- Hi there. I noticed you're a member of Wikiproject Dragonball, and I'm trying to recruit some people from that to contribute to the Dragon Ball Wiki. It's in terrible shape right now with pretty much no consistency or policies, and only this week have I been able to get Angela and Sannse to create some Forums for us over there. I've got a proposed Manual of Style going over there and would like some people to contribute to that to set up some policies and start making the wiki bigger, better, and more intelligible/consistent. If you're interested, please hop on over or talk to me. Thanks for the time, whether you're interested or not. Wildyoda 02:36, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Donald duck debut.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Donald duck debut.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:26, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Bugs Bunny debut.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bugs Bunny debut.PNG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:54, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hildegarn.PNG)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hildegarn.PNG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
Image:Red_Metal_Sonic_Chaotix.PNG
[edit]I have tagged Image:Red_Metal_Sonic_Chaotix.PNG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:48, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Jin-e and X-men
[edit][1] Original research is NOT allowed - He "may" bear a resemblance to Gambit but that is an unpublished idea, so you cannot add it. WhisperToMe (talk) 00:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
You will have to find the original Japanese text and cite that (include the relevant text - if possible please include scans). That is because 1. We generally prefer official translations and 2. So we know that what is said is indeed what is said. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:8 bit mecha sonic.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:8 bit mecha sonic.PNG. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 16:34, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
