If you want something to discuss. :)
I believe Eino Lehtinen should be counted as WWI, not WWI-era. I believe the system is currently unfair to Finland. If they served before Nov 11 1918, should be WWI.R Young {yakłtalk} 00:38, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
We'd this discussion befor. The finish civil war ist the resulat of WWI not a part of it. The revolution in russia 1917 is befor the end of war and also a result of WWI (like the finish civil war) but not a part of it. The germans send lenin to russia because they want to end the war with russia - and it functioned. With the same logic you must count the veterans of the russian revolultion as WWI-Veterans...
Something to think about: If someone in the finish civil war fought after 11.11.1918 but not befor he ist an era-veteran and when the fought befor he is a WWI-Veteran? This isn't consecent.
And once again: Can you name one historician which say that the finish civil war was part of WWI and not only a result of it???

Statistician,
I'm quite disappointed that you are arguing over a dead man. I reject the narrow mindset that sees things only through the lens of one viewpoint (i.e. majority viewpoint). Given that Eino Lehtinen served before Nov 11 1918, I say that is enough.
Second, let's be honest, as much as we'd like equal standards, we don't have them. We are already giving the Germans the benefit of the doubt, allowing them to be listed even without links.
Third, given that Mr. Lehtinen is already dead, the issue shouldn't be that big a deal. To try to make a scorched-Earth policy that looks for reasons to exclude is simply unacceptable.
Fourth, might I ask you if you are an historian? I already told you that I was.R Young {yakłtalk} 10:48, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
1. I'm working on my thesis für history.
2. You still didn't refered a academic source for your assumption that the Finish Civil War ist part of WWI - sources say it otherway.
3. The argument that we should handle it your way because he is dead didn't make your assumption right. And we have two more Finisch Civil War Veterans so it isn't only Mr. Lethinen.
4. Do you think internet-sources are better than newspaper-sources? In our history-wokrs the internet isn't a accepted source...

Erich Kastner
[edit]Hi Statistician, I've been tidying up the citations on the veterans page, I notice that Erich Kastner has a link to the Rheinpfalz website (I've also added a reference to a English online newspaper, The Guardian). Do you have membership at all on that site? I am presuming that the article about him is now in the archived 'members only' section, I've changed the citation to say that membership is required for now.
The Rheinpfalz-Link was for Christmann, not for Kästner (Ä=ae). Put there are non-internet-sources for him.

Hallo Statistician, I saw your message in my webpage regarding Extreme Temperatures. No thanks I am not interested in correct those horrible craps and lies in that page link you sent me , EVERYTHING is that page is complete garbage and 100% false. 58C at Al Azizia , ahha can i laugh ? It was rtaining that day and even the animals know it was the coldest September day in the libian history. 54C at Kabul ? Fantastic ! at almost 1800 mteres. Tell me something, who wrote that page ? Not a monkey beacuse monkeys are not so ignorant, must be a insect or som ething like that. I am at another level, sorry, I am by far the best climatologue in the world and I don t mix with charlatans and liers. Just to tell you I respect you too much, and all I said is nothing, absolutely nothing against you or mean to offend you.I know you just collec statisics and don t pretend to be a climatologue, but I am a climatologue, a profssional, by far n.1 in the world and I wrote my first book at 12 years old. I am just against quaks and charlatans and liers who like to publish completely false and invented news and destroy this nice cience. I have nothing to share with those animals who only spread their ignorance throughout the web. I think people who write about a matter must know what they are doing because the have a responsability to inform people correctly.
So I keep my information only for professionals, don t have time to see those jokes in those ridicolous pages, I have made many corrections and publish interesting materials but everything have been revereted by those insects. I don t know to see any other crap like that page. I am a climatologue not a liar nor a crook who has nothing to do during the day.
Auf wiedersehen mein Freund, I hope you understand nothing of what I said is direct to you.

Per WP:DATE, places of birth and death are not to be entangled within the lifespan brackets of individuals, and the little * and cross are not to be used either. Please format your lifespans as (Month Day, Year – Month Day, Year) on all pages that you create. Thank you. Cheers, CP 17:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Where did you get this case from? Is this "original research"? Because if there isn't a published source that has accepted this claim, then it shouldn't be on Wikipedia.

Austria-Hungary/Italy
[edit]Comment: I do not think that Venere Pizzinato-Papo and Theresa Breitenberger-Staffler are the same types of case. Breitenberger-Staffler was an ethnic Austrian, born in Austria proper (that was ceded to Italy after WWII as a sort of reparation/punishment). Venere Pizzinato-Papo is an ethnic Italian, born in an area of Italy controlled by Austria-Hungary (and lost after WWI).Ryoung122 15:17, 14 March 2009 (UTC) Ethnic isn't importanten for border.--Statistician (talk) 11:12, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
About Rosa Rein
[edit]I already discussed in Talk about Rosa Rein. All countries are reported with current borders in this table, without considering the "ancestry". We have to use the same criterion for the whole table. And I agree with you about your answer to ryoung (read above). Above in this article (before the table) there is the phrase "Countries of birth are reported in current borders for simplicity", so "German Empire" contradicts this criterion. You cannot talk about ancestry (ancestry doesn't mean "country of birth"). Reporting "Poland" with a note is correct.--Pascar (talk) 11:30, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
It's not about ancestry it's about nation of orgian - to but that all in modern border is historicaly incorrect and makes no sence.

German politicians
[edit]I'd be extremely grateful if you could help expand any articles within List of German Christian Democratic Union politicians. There is a chance they will be deleted. This would help greatly as I am trying hard to add to them. This lot were not deleted as of yet as I have been given some time to save this lot. Could you help salvage as many as you possibly can? The thing is the articles were created and I didn't realise that the interwiki tags and reference were not valid as a start. I thought they could be built upon. I have nominated List of German Federal Ministers by longevity, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of German Federal Ministers by longevity. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. I42 (talk) 18:49, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

- This AfD closed as keep, but the discussion at User_talk:HJ_Mitchell#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion.2FList_of_German_Ministers-Presidents_by_longevity considers whether this was appropriate and suggests renomination. My objection to the list as it currently stands is that the date of death is, at the time of service, unknown and thus irrelevant, making this an arbitrary cross-categorization. There are many other lists, such as List of Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom by longevity, which include lifespan but supplement it with non-arbitrary information such as age at start of term, and developing this article in this way seems preferable to renominating, and possibly deleting, it. Could it and List of longest governing German Ministers-Presidents be merged? There seem to be few names in common on those lists. Would you be willing to continue developing it in this way?
