Welcome[edit]

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some other hints and tips:

  • I would recommend that you get a username. You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free and non-intrusive, requires no personal information, and there are many benefits of having a username. (If you edit without a username, your IP address is used to identify you instead.)
  • When using talk pages, please sign your name at the end of your messages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically produce your username (or IP address) and the date.

If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or type {{helpme}} on this talk page and a user will help you as soon as possible. I will answer your questions as far as I can. Again, welcome, and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian.

Vandalism[edit]

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Robert Smith (musician) on Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.--Bongwarrior 08:36, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop introducing jokes into articles, such as those you created at Cannabis (drug). Wikipedia is a serious encyclopedia, and contributions of this type are considered vandalism. Continuing to add jokes and other disruptive content into articles may lead to you being blocked from editing. Ursasapien (talk) 08:59, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's start again. Thanks for noticing the vandalism. I reverted it and warned the editor. I have this article in my watchlist, but somehow I missed that horribly blatant vandalism. I am happy you have come to Wikipedia and hope you stay and continue to help improve the encyclopedia. By the way, you can sign your post by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thanks again.
