[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to Criticism of Windows Vista. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. --Brad Beattie (talk) 06:49, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry! My mistake! I have some problems with my browser and incompatible addons. I reverted the page to its last version.

Ah! Totally understood. No worries. :) --Brad Beattie (talk) 08:00, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Subpages

[edit]

Hi there - I deleted a number of your subpages per your speedy deletion request. Feel free to let me know if I missed anything. See you around! --HappyCamper 13:49, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sebleblanc, I notice that you're interested in open-source/free software. Please consider joining WikiProject Free Software. We're just starting out, and we could really use some members. Thanks! Geekman314(contact me) 19:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

D-wave

[edit]

You want to hear about advances in computing, and are interested in physics, correct? Well, here's some news: a company called D-Wave Systems, Inc., has developed a 16-quibit quantum computer capable of running some commercial applications. Geekman314(contact me) 03:24, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Just a quick note, however bad the vandalism is, an edit summary which includes fucking racism might not be appropriate! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 01:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if I offended you with my edit summary, but I'm really pissed-off when people make racist comments on Wikipedia, because, in fact, Wikipedia is meant to be free, not restricted to some stupid persons that hate other races. Anyway, I hope I don't sound too stupid! ;-) SUBZ3R0 ( Talk | E-mail ) 01:34, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No not at all, I fully support your view, wikipedia should not be subject to racial hatred. It annoys me too that I have to spend all my time on wikipedia cleaning up other peoples apparent jokes. I was just giving you the heads up! Wikipedia would not be the same without us vandalism hunters! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 01:39, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! Hey! I got an idea! Let's be friends! :D SUBZ3R0 ( Talk | E-mail ) 01:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good call! Lets remove that fucking racism from wikipedia! RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 01:48, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries (2)

[edit]

Hi there. Good work in reverting vandalism over at Spoils system. Like User:Ryanpostlethwaite (above), I think that profane edit summaries don't reflect too well on you as an editor. Your edits seem to be fine, it's just the summaries that are a bit off. Please think before firing off a witty riposte via edit summary, because summaries are much harder than other text to delete and particularly sharp summaries (like calling a user an "asshat") could be construed as a personal attack. Thanks. — mholland 02:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake again. Please take in note that I'm really bored and tired of everything at the moment. I did never intended to make personal attacks on anyone, even if it looks like it. You know, when you call your friend a dummy because he doesn't understand your POV on something, it doesn't make him in fact a dummy, even if he looks/acts like one! SUBZ3R0 ( Talk | E-mail ) 02:13, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and by the way, the asshat in question is the one that was making personal attacks:

In the absence of other nominations, free software is the article for improvement by the WikiProject for the week of 4/22-4/28. Please help rearrange the article, primarily, and make any improvements that you can think of. Hopefully, as the article is already pretty good, we can bring it to an FA. Journal de Montréal trivia

[edit]

Hello, why did you delete my trivia part about a song about Le Journal de Montréal? Many pages include trivia sections, and the song's lyrics shows how the newspaper's content is regarded by (some) Canadians. Felix ahlner 12:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Many pages unfortunately include trivia sections, and most of them are being cleaned out because Wikipedia feels they don't add much to the encyclopedic contents of an article. Also, I feel that this part was clearly not neutral. Some is a weasel word and is frowned on by many wikipedians. (Yes I do realise many wikipedians is also a weasel word, but most people do not care) --SUBZ3R0 ( Talk | E-mail ) 00:00, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smile!

[edit]

Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) has smiled at you! Smiles are good! and hopefully this one has made your day better. Why not smile at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend? Happy editing!

Repost

[edit]

A tag has been placed on :<, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how < is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template hangon underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:< saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Pastordavid 14:43, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation. Certainly. An article you created, <, was tagged for speedy deletion. As the person who tagged it did not notify you, I thought that I would before I deleted it. The article was a reposting of previously deleted material: that article had been through a AfD, and the decision was delete - in part because the article title winds up looking like < -- that everytime it is typed. (see the criteria for speedy deletion, especially General criteria #4 for info about the speedy deletion of recreated material). Thanks. Pastordavid 14:58, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't recall creating any page either named <, < or even <. I don't even recall creating a single page at all, except for uploaded images. Please clarify what this could mean. Thank you. --Sébastien Leblanc ( Talk | E-mail ) 15:27, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what else to explain. The deleted article's history page reads: " 16:33, June 24, 2007 . . Sebleblanc (Talk | contribs | block) (24 bytes) (←Redirected page to Inequality) ". It won't show up in your contribs, because it is deleted, but you created the article on June 24, 2007 as a redirect to Inequality. If you don't care about it, then just don't worry about it. Pastordavid 15:36, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh thank you for explaining this to me! --Sébastien Leblanc ( Talk | E-mail ) 21:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies

[edit]

My sincere apologies if that was you on the IP contributor, the summary, the text removing what seemed to be a valid nutritional info box, and replacement of 'loltest', all led me to believe that someone else was removing your work. My deepest apologies, and I hope I did not offend you! ArielGold 20:47, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh no worries, I fully know that you could restore the older revision, I simply meant that it appeared not to be you. I've been around for two years, lol. I'm not a newbie :) ArielGold 23:08, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quebec French Userboxes.

[edit]

Hello. Thank you for making these userboxes. The "fr-qc" link leads to "English language", which might just be wrong. It should link to "Quebec French". Thank you.

Have a nice day. --Sébastien Leblanc (Talk|Mail) 01:09, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GrimSkunk FiresUnderTheRoad.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:GrimSkunk FiresUnderTheRoad.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:AdobeFlashCS3OSX.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AdobeFlashCS3OSX.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:19, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

File:Cornheap.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Cornheap.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: . Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 04:48, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
